Before I started my journey with my small business I read the book "The life-changing magic of tidying up" by Marie Kondo. I understood most of her teachings but the one thing I really liked was the way she folded clothes. This folding method not only looks great but opens up more room as well. The idea is to get clothing items into a simple smooth rectangle. The number of folds should be adjusted so that the folded clothing when standing on edge fits the height of the drawer. This will allow your clothes to be stacked on edge, side by side so that you can see all your items of clothing at a glance. No more wearing the same 3 t shirts! Please share if you like what you see! Happy organizing!
In light of all the sad news this week I opted to not do a post yesterday. But I started thinking about how thankful I am for my family, friends, health and safety. So with thanksgiving just around the corner I am sharing with you my preparation ideas for a successful dinner gathering. I LOVE to entertain! I might enjoy the preparation more than the actual event. My idea of a successful dinner party is being as prepared as possible so that when your guests arrive you can rela...x and enjoy! 1. Decide on date and guests 2. Menu 3. Set table ( you can do this well in advance if you have a dining area) if you don't have dining area decide on plates and decor so that it can come together quickly the day of dinner. 4. Desserts ( I make desserts a week ahead and freeze) 5. Thaw turkey!! If thawing in the fridge you need sometimes 5-6 days depending on the size. 6. Label all your serving dishes ( you won't forget to cook something and you won't be banging on your neighbors door to borrow a last minute casserole dish) 7. Prep any veg dishes a day before ( I make my Elsie potatos days before because they freeze and refrigerate well) 8. Clean house (the more cooking you can get done before cleaning the better) 9. Stuff turkey morning of and enjoy some peace and quiet before guests arrive! Happy thanksgiving everyone!
