While we are at home with our littles I thought I'd try and post some activities we've done at daycare so you have some different ideas to help with continued learning at home. FINE MOTOR SKILL ACTIVITY In the spring we always love making bug fossils! You can use anything that will leave a nice print like dinosaurs, bugs, or other small plastic animals.
Covid-19 Outbreak Update: The Province of Ontario has extended the State of Emergency an additional 2 weeks. During the declared state of emergency, home childcare providers who care for children of essential service workers are permitted to open under strict guidelines, if those essential workers are required to work outside their home. Ontario schools are closed until May 2020. In line with this we will continue our closure for the month of April, and will update as t...he situation is reassessed. Stay Healthy and Safe!
I'll be sharing some resources, links and online help for you during this time. This one is downloadable - a great document about how to speak to your children about COVID-19. DOWNLOAD LINK - ... How to speak to your children about COVID-19. See more
Make slime with your kids!!!
Covid-19 Outbreak Update: This morning the Province of Ontario declared a state of emergency. All daycares, licensed centers, including private and licensed home childcare have been mandated to close their doors for a period of 2 weeks. The situation will be re-evaluated after the 2 week period and you may watch here for updates with regards to closures.... Effective end of day today (Tuesday March 17th) we will be closed for a minimum period of 2 weeks.
Here's an excellent social story for your kids. Social stories are a great way for kids to relate to current things happening around them. To be effective you should repeat the social story to them several times a day. :)
COVID-19 OUTBREAK We are taking appropriate measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Although we are remaining open, there will be strict enforcement of illness policy and some immediate precautions taken for parents and children. Upon drop off or pickup of your child you will be asked to sanitize your hands and your child's hands.... Please refrain from bringing any unnecessary items from home except for sleep related items. If you have a cough, fever, runny nose or shortness of breath please DO NOT bring your child to daycare. If you have attended a public gathering of 200+ people, have been in contact with someone who has recently traveled outside of Canada, or have been in contact with someone you know who has been exposed to COVID-19 DO NOT bring your child to daycare. Please follow the local Leeds & Grenville Health Unit for information about the virus and the WHO for updates world wide. https://www.facebook.com/LGLHealthUnit/ https://www.who.int//novel-coronavirus-2/advice-for-public
Well not only did we see some signs of spring this week we also got to play with a few new items brought to us by CROW. The babies were a big hit, we had to diaper and feed them, put them to sleep, rock them and care for them. We also go our sillies on with Mr. Potatoe Head, and got out one of our sensory bins!... Our outside play included rolling, sledding, sliding and shoveling, and sitting for a picture!
