Scrape Therapy (Gua Sha ) My topic today is scraping, in Chinese Gua Sha(). Skin scraping is one of the traditional Chinese natural therapies. It works according to the thermal dynamic principle(). It can promote the blood circulation. It has the function of adjusting the Qi(), relieving tiredness and increasing the immune system. And illnesses that Acupuncture and MASSAGEare able to treat can be helped with skin scraping as well. But not all the people accep...t Gua Sha, many of them even misunderstand it. Here is a video, in which American people mistook the color in the boy’s back as the evidence of child abuse while the Chinese father explained it as a traditional Chinese medical treatment. Now, let’s enjoy it. I will give you a brief introduction about skin scraping. Skin scraping treatment has a history of more than 2000 years in China. We don’t know the exact origin. It was first introduced in book of Great Treatment which was written by Wei Yilin in Yuan Dynasty.(1337 A.D.) Sha refers to kinds of diseases in your body while Gua Sha means removing diseases out of your body to make you healthy. If the Sha was removed out of your body, it will appear under your skin. So the skin will turn into red, purple or even black and darker color means poorer health. There are many functions about skin scraping. For example, it can help to cure cold, headache, vomiting(), diarrhea(), heat stroke(). Besides, it can also be used to lose weight and beautify the features. Scraping on different parts of your body works different. For example, Head skin scraping can promote the head blood circulation, eliminating fatigue and headache. Many old people use the method of combing hair to achieve the effect of health care. Long-term head scraping can prevent the hair becoming gray, dry and loss. Face skin scraping is a way which can make your face become smoother. It has great influence to cure acne()splash()and wrinkle(). First, make sure what kind of disease it is before scraping and then scrape on the correct part of your body in a correct way. Second, after skin scraping, the sweat pore can expansion, so avoid wind when skin scraping and you’d better not take shower with clod water that day. Third, drink a cup of hot water after scraping which can help speed up metabolism.
