First calf of 2020. Bull calf named Tiny! A Highland Limousine Cross.
Some people are happy when the work week ends. Im happiest when Im farming. Today cows were milked and chores were done. ... Hay was cut and baled, hauled on wagons and wrapped into rows. Barley was combined, augured and stored away for the winter. Tomorrow we do it all over again, not just because we have to but because we want to. #LifeOfAFarmer
Cut the last of the sorghum tonight.. Spot our bottle lamb isnt impressed about being out with the rest of the flock.

Shout-out to McDonald's for sourcing 100% all Canadian beef for its current burger options.
I have been getting more and more questions lately about this product, and no wonder, given the heavy marketing that it is getting. I would have to agree with m...any of the points in the article below - super processed foods, made with ingredients like canola and soy are not healthier or more sustainable options than real, local food, whether plant or animal based. Pea protein can be quite difficult to digest for many people. If you want to eat a more plant-based diet, (and there are a lot of good reasons to do so), I encourage real, unprocessed plant foods (like real vegetables and fruits!), and choose high quality, local foods when you choose animal foods. A great reminder that this time of year is a busy time on Manitoulin please respect the farm traffic on our roads. We all want to come home safe to our families..
Heres a powerful message! Its not the cow, its the how!!
Our Scarlet Runner beans are in bloom. Another week and we can move them outside!
This time of year we remind everyone to take the time to put road safety first. When you come up behind large farming equipment on the road, please slow down, s...hare the road and be patient. Make sure the road is clear and the driver can see you before you pass.
