Just because we're in lockdown (again..) doesn't mean there isn't anything to do. In Simcoe County there are lots of things to keep busy with; hiking, fat biking, cross country skiing and snowshoe trails at Snow Valley Resort, Horseshoe Resort, Hardwood Hills, Blue Mountain Resort, oh, and the Scenic Caves snowshoe trail (*** update, the scenic caves trail is closed until January 23) is definitely on my hitlist. One thing to check and ask about is what rental equipment is ava...ilable during lockdown... Many Ice Skating trails are still open (bring your own skates) however, other than Friday Harbour's Glice Trail you may have to travel north to visit Arrowhead Park Skating Trail; Muskoka Lake Cranberry Ice Trail; Hanna Park Skating Trail in Port Carling (it's free and great for smaller children); or head west to Woodview Mountaintop Skate Trail in the Blue Mountains. There are still horse drawn wagon rides, snowmobiling and beautiful scenic walks in several forests across Simcoe County. Dress warm! There's plenty to do at home as well! Introduce your family bubble to a Fondue night or Pizza making (everyone chooses their own ingredients) is always a blast. Of course you can also use this time to declutter, organize and maybe renovate a room that is looking a little dated... Need advice? Call me and we can set up a video call and I can give you some great budget friendly but effective facelift ideas;) Creative online and virtual options are zoom/video chats with friends and family- try a virtual Escape Room; or virtual board games- 9 Truths; Cards; and Psych! Looking for a little self improvement? How about online yoga an/or meditation (lots to choose from); online classes such as learning a new language, how to digitally paint, paint, or 'how to' just about anything! Virtual Travel. Why not visit all your bucket list destinations without airport lineups and huge credit card expenses? See across Canada; world famous museums, art galleries, landmarks and landscapes. Interested in hiking the Grand Canyon or the Camino de Santiago or other well known spots? These are just a drop in the bucket! While writing this article, I lost a whole evening to looking up live cams of around the globe (and beyond)! Check out the Space Station!); Under water tropical reefs; Epic Cities; Beautiful beaches; African lion safaris; I mean, who wouldn't want to watch live surfing on a Hawaiian beach and then the glorious sunset??? If nothing else satisfies your appetite for curiosity there's always the Big Texan live cam where you can watch a brave soul tackle a 72oz steak dinner!
