It’s no secret that I’ve worked with a couple brands over the past year. Ambassador relationships have given me a creative outlet to come up with wordplay, to concoct photo ideas that present brands in the best light, and to even spend Valentine’s Day at my favourite national grocery retailer . That being said, I’ve always been selective and even a little bit conflicted when upholding a brand with my content and my reviews. It’s no secret that there’s an exchange taking... place and, commonly, the credibility of a glowing review can be called into question (thus driving home the importance of only representing brands you love and share the values of). This most recent partnership (and the most prevalent in my life over the past year) has not only allowed me to travel 30,000km down the most exciting stretch of the #1 highway from Regina to Winnipeg, but has, in the process, allowed @kyle_b_gibson and myself to expand the WHEELPACK (with the help of @mrtrenaud and team) to another great Canadian city. Beyond that, @yqrbenz has been there NOT ONLY when it’s been convenient for them. Last month, with our world being tipped upside down, they immediately offered up extra vehicles to make the delivery of 150 bikes possible in two cities to help us pay our bills and keep the WHEELPACK engaged and active. Asking nothing in return, they were there for us and it’s something I’ll never forget. STILL IN THE SADDLE // this is how I feel when I think about how much of a privilege it is to have something to work toward at a time like this. yep, times are tough. yep, the future is uncertain. but not only do I get to show up and try to make the best of a tough situation, I get to do it with the support of a team that has risen to the occasion, a community that’s rallied around us, people who have volunteered their time (and camera equipment @tannergoetz), a business pa...rtner (@kyle_b_gibson) who’s built for times like this, a manager who works tirelessly (@bryce.lyndon), a family who provides support and food on the daily, and people who check in to see how I’m holding up. Because of this absolutely humbling combination of factors, I get to show up and do what I love (with a twist) again tomorrow. the room will only have two of us in it, but consider The Vault jam packed.
