Not everyone is supposed to get our vulnerability. As @brenebrown says, people have to earn the right to it. Unfortunately, there are times we give it to people... who don’t want it, don’t know what to do with it, or because the relationship itself just isn’t strong enough to hold it. Our vulnerability shouldn’t be used against us, but it’s also our job to be the safe keeper of it. This list isn’t a complete list, but it certainly includes many of the things I believe we ought to look out for when deciding whether it’s in our best interest to open up our inner world and experiences to others. When trying on vulnerability it’s great to start small. Instead of sharing your most personal experiences right from the get go, give something that is less fragile a shot and see how it lands. Build upon that. Would you add anything to this list? What do you need to pay attention to the most? How are you as a giver of vulnerability and how are you as a receiver of vulnerability? Take a moment to reflect on how much safety you require from others and how much safety you create for others. #mindfulmft ____ Living and Loving Through Chronic Pain and/or Illness 8 week group starts next week. Join a small, initiate group with licensed marriage and family therapist, Hillary Geffner, as your facilitator. Hillary too has had to navigate this in her own personal life and brings tremendous guidance, grace, and compassion on this journey. Link in bio for details. Only a couple of spots lefts. See more

My friends know I mute any chat with more than 2 people in it. I get back to the chat but am a little slower than others at responding. . Why? Like a lot of us,... I definitely don’t need any more reminders to check my phone. @instagram is plenty good at that. . And it isn’t just the checking that can be problematic in terms of building up anxiety ...it’s also downright distracting. It breaks our focus more than we are aware of. It’s hard to stay mindful when you phone keeps interrupting your focus. . My friends know the mute isn’t a reflection on them. I adore my friends. Instead it’s a reflection of me trying my best to set healthy limits with my phone. . Anyone else a muter? . [R]esearchers...have found the new mRNA COVID-19 vaccines to be highly effective in producing antibodies against the SARS-CoV-2 virus in pregnant and lactating women. They also demonstrated the vaccines confer protective immunity to newborns through breastmilk and the placenta".
