FEELING STRESSED AND OVERWHELMED? Here's a quick practice that'll help you get your sanity and clarity back... PRACTICE MINDFULNESS! ... You don’t need to sit in silence for hours, chant mantras, or even close your eyes. Mindfulness means bringing your complete attention to the present, where you are right now, not distracted by memories of the past or anxieties about the future. Right here, right now! Here is one great mindfulness hack you can use to stay grounded and present no matter what time of day or where you are. BREATH! You can use the 3 Breaths technique to anchor your awareness firmly in the present. It’s so easy you can do it right now as you’re reading this. Simply bring your attention to your breath breathe in slowly and gently, following the path of your breath with your mind. Feel it deep in your belly. Then breathe out slowly and gently, again paying attention to the movement of your breath. Can you feel a subtle energy shift, a calm peacefulness? That is how mindfulness feels. You can do this anywhere at any time, and no one will know that you are practicing mindfulness! The next time you feel overwhelmed and like you're drowning in everything that you need to do, remember to just breathe

Besides yourself...and well, probably your flowery journal who else knows about your career aspirations and goals? I'll give you a minute while you think about that. The problem I see so many talented and ambitious women make in their careers is they don't communicate their desires to lead or take on more responsibilities. They keep that card close to their chest like it's a secret and they never get what they want!... Guess what? If you aren't declaring what you want, those who have the influence to make it happen for you will think you're happy exactly where you are so they won't advocate for you. Talk to your manager, your mentor, career besty (is there something like that? ) Anyway, tell everyone new you meet about your desire to grow in your career. Tell them exactly what you're looking for and what you desire. Here's what will happen the next time an opportunity arises and they're there, they'll throw your name in the ring because not many people are doing this so you'll be top of mind for them. Of course this isn't the only thing that'll get you ahead but it's one of the things. Now go and tell someone your career goal, and then come back and let me know you have done so below I'm cheering you on from the sidelines

Self-care isn't just about what you do or how long it takes, it's also about your mindset, and activities can take less than 5 minutes.
