It's June. I know I was supposed to open up last week but it did not feel right. It still doesn't feel right, and with everything in the world I am not sure when it will feel right. But at the same time I know people are looking for help, trying to navigate their weddings with new financial realities, new restrictions, new rules. I am here for you and look forward to trying to help you in the small way I can.
My full-time day job has been incredibly accomodating and allowing me to work from home. This means my craft spaces have been switched over to a home office, and crafting at this time would be too difficult. For the time being, Lindsey's Paper and Petals is closed. I am looking to hopefully reopen in June. It will depend on a variety of factors that none of us can even see right now. I am going to use this time to reflect on my business, my prices, and where I see this g...oing in the future. No one can tell what the future holds right now, so take every moment to appreciate those around you. Thank you to all my supporters, fans, my customers and my friends for everything we have accomplished so far. Stay safe <3
Easter is coming! Eventually! Get this cute little bunny for your Easter decor, and then move those flowers into another room as decor for the rest of the year. Taking limited orders, looking forward to talking to you about yours!
When people ask me why I got into paper flowers, it is hard to basically tell them, because I had no other choice. At least not in my mind! I had been scared away from real flowers by a very high quote. I had then gone to the other extreme and tried to put together dollar store flowers and hoped for elegance. Instead, I had what looked like dollar store flowers. So, I went to Pinterest almost desperate at that point, looking for how I could get all the flowers I wanted, ...but under $500.00. I ended up learning how to make some flowers, and then creating my own first rose design and used that for the whole wedding! I had over a year to teach myself and learn. In the end, I made over 1000 roses, learned about crepe and scissors and punches, and taught myself a new skill I thought I would never use again. And yet, people would ask me to try to make them this, or that. Slowly, that evolved into the actual and real registered business you see today! So I may have started paper flowers reluctantly, but now I consider myself a paper flower artist and I am ready to create a non traditional bouquet for you. (also, the flowers do fine on a cake!)
A little throw back to this amazing bouquet. I loved making this bouquet. So many different flowers and textures, and I learned a lot about paper and how to make different paper work! Also, if you know me you know I like matching things! The bride had an amazing eye and picked out colors that matched her husband's tie and compliments those beautiful shoes. It was an honor to work on this wedding and it would be an honor to work on yours! Photo Credit: WJB Photography
