Linsmore Tavern 10.05.2021

Definitely our favourite day of the year at the Linsmore Tavern (1298 Danforth Ave) is today March 17th, also known as St Patrick's Day! The reason for this is that since 2013, we have been fortunate enough to have the BEST 8 piece, All-Star line-up of some of our country's finest musicians, WEE TIN CAN perform all of the Irish Classics! Anyone who has attended one of these St Paddy's Day shows, could attest to how fun of a night it is! This evening is always packed with peop...le who are dancing, singing and having a great time to some amazing music! You can't beat the atmosphere at the Linsmore when WEE TIN CAN hit our stage! The pandemic was just beginning this time last year and the plug had to be pulled on this show for obvious social distancing reasons. We are not able to host this evening this year, but we are crossing our fingers that in 2022, we can host one of these Epic St Paddy's Day Party's with WEE TIN CAN and with full capacity, the way it's meant to be celebrated. Happy St Patricks Day, everyone! Enjoy some of our memories from past St Paddy day shows! See more

It's been exactly 1 year to the day that the Linsmore Tavern (1298 Danforth Ave), has had a band perform on our stage! The last live show at the Linsmore was Mike Sedgewick's Blues Revue & Open Jam on Sunday March 15th. The next day we had to cancel our second St Paddy's Day party and officially close the bar down. We were pretty much booked solid with shows till August 2020 (we have never been so organized in regards to booking in advance before) and we had to cancel each a...nd every one of those shows. We vowed to each band whose show had been cancelled, that we would reschedule their show when things have gone back to normal. It has been a full calendar year and it's still the same situation. The Linsmore Tavern has been around 87 years and it's safe to say that in our long history we have never seen a year like this. Finally there seems to be a bit of optimism that live music can return. The Linsmore Tavern, like so many musicians and other venues are hoping that we can get back to putting on live shows again and soon. We are still not taking bookings at this moment, but we are ready and willing once we get the OK! Stay strong everyone, things are getting close, we can feel it!

This is so cool! When the Linsmore Tavern (1298 Danforth Ave) opened our web-shop in late 2020, we received an overwhelming amount of interest in our t-shirts. People all over Ontario were ordering these shirts. In fact we have had to ship a number of shirts outside of Canada and even all the way to Germany! The photo below was sent to us from Germany, where we shipped her our Linsmore Tavern classic logo t-shirt! We are so grateful for all of our great supporters throughout ...Ontario and beyond. For those who are still interested in getting your Linsmore Tavern swag, but were waiting for the bar to open, unfortunately we still don't have a date for that (hopefully soon). If you want to get your swag right away, you can order it from our website. If you live outside of Ontario and even in another country, we can ship the t-shirts to you, just like we did for our supporter living in Germany (seen in the photo below). You can check out our t-shirt options at our website, right here: https://www.linsmoretavern.com/shop/ See more

Back in 2018, the Linsmore Tavern (1298 Danforth Ave) was named one of Canada's best 35 Blues Clubs! Though we are not strictly a blues venue, we do love our Blues music and booking very high-quality blues acts, so this was a major thrill for us! We have booked so many incredible blues acts over the years such as Wild T & The Spirit, Godboogie, The Gary Cain Band and so many more! Perhaps the main reason why we are placed on this list is because of our Blues Sunday Series. We... have had a variation of Blues Sunday, every Sunday since 2013, where any Blues or music lover could show up on that day and would be guaranteed to see a fantastic blues band. Our most recent line-up of Molson Canadian Blues Sunday's featured Jerome Tucker Band - every first Sunday of the month, Mike Sedgwick's Blues Revue (Open Blues Jam) - every second Sunday of the month, The Legendary Castaways - every third Sunday of the month, The Frank Cosentino Band - every fourth Sunday of the month! We will continue hosting Blues shows in the future and we will continue bringing some of the best blues bands in the country onto our stage! If you are a Blues fan, there's no better place for Blues music on a Sunday night than at the Linsmore Tavern and we will continue our Molson Canadian Blues Sunday Series when we are allowed to open our stage! We are so excited to finally launch our brand new website at www.linsmoretavern.com This website has been in the works before Covid-19 as our previous website was built in 2013 and was definitely outdated. We wanted to make the user experience on our website much more efficient as the website had been a great tool for us to get our shows out to our customers and where people could come to get advance tickets for our shows. As of right now we still do not have any live shows... booked, but when we are able to open up our stage again, this will be the place to see all of our shows and a place to purchase advance tickets. One new feature that we are excited to offer with the brand new www.linsmoretavern.com is our web-shop! After many years of requests, the Linsmore Tavern now has swag, which you will be able to purchase through our online shop! When you get a chance, give it a look at www.linsmoretavern.com This photo is from 1966 when we were the Linsmore House!

We miss our amazing Tribute nights so much at the Linsmore Tavern (1298 Danforth Ave)! We have booked so many incredible Tribute Bands over the years, you name the band we have probably booked a Tribute to them. During these Covid times, many of these fantastic bands and musicians are not playing or have definitely had their gigs reduced greatly. Here is a fantastic social distancing performance from one of our favourite bands, Caravan: A Soulful Tribute to Van Morrison! Cara...van has played some amazing shows over the years at the Linsmore and it's always a hot ticket. They always Sell-Out their shows well in advance and it really is a party when they play! We really hope we can bring back Tribute Bands like Caravan real soon. Stay safe everyone, lets get through this difficult time, so we can enjoy live music again! https://www.youtube.com/watch See more

One of the great musician's in the GTA music scene, Phil Naro is battling Cancer. Phil has played a couple of times over the years at the Linsmore Tavern (1298 Danforth Ave) and is an absolute legend. Not only is he one of the most talented musician/vocalist out there, but he is a great guy. If you haven't seen him perform at the Linsmore, you have probably seen him play at one of the many GTA venues over the years or possibly with Billy Sheehen in Talas. If you have means, please support him during this difficult fight. https://gf.me/u/y3xamq

Cancelled Shows: Friday July 10: Wild T & The Spirit Saturday July 11: The Neil Young'uns Tribute to Neil Young Sunday July 12: The Legendary Castaways (Blues Sunday)... This was going to be another memorable weekend at the Linsmore Tavern (1298 Danforth Ave), as two of our very favourite bands, Wild T & The Spirit and The Neil Young'uns were scheduled to perform! Both of these bands have played so many full capacity, memorable shows over the years at the Linsmore. We really miss these incredible bands and the really fun nights where everyone goes home happy. The atmosphere is always electric when a band like Wild T & The Spirit or The Neil Young'uns hit our intimate stage. The photos below are from a couple of memorable nights with these two bands. The first photo is of Wild T & The Spirit, which dates back to 2016 and is with one of our favourite people Jackie Lynn who is one of Toronto's biggest supporter's of the music scene! The second photo is of The Neil Young'uns at the Linsmore back in 2013 for one of their 28 SOLD-OUT shows. Man we miss our incredible bands and our amazing customers.

It's really good to see a number of bands and musicians who we know quite well, playing shows, live streaming and creating new music! Please support all of the musicians and bands out there, as now more than ever is the time to support this industry. Sat July 4 - Crazy Babies Tribute to Ozzy Osbourne Sun July 5 - Jerome Tucker Band (Blues Sunday) See more

Linsmore Tavern 27.09.2020

This one hurts a lot! If there ever was a time to put on a Tribute night or a celebration of a legendary musician, now is the time! We wish we could be that place right now! RIP Eddie, your music and influence will live on forever!

Linsmore Tavern 22.09.2020

We are sorry to announce more cancelled shows for this weekend at the Linsmore Tavern (1298 Danforth Ave). We will keep everyone posted on when we will re-open. Unfortunately getting a front sidewalk patio licence just does not make sense for us as we would only be able to accommodate 2 or 3 tables, which would not justify enough business for us to open. The following shows will not be taking place this weekend: Friday June 26: The Gary Cain Band Saturday June 27: Hell N Back The Ultimate Canadian AC/DC Tribute Band Sunday June 28: Frank Cosentino Band (Blues Sunday)

Linsmore Tavern 13.09.2020

Friday June 12 - 1977 Punk Rock Blitzorama Feat Tributes to The Ramones, The Jam and Blondie Saturday June 13 - Sheer Heart Attack - celebrating the music of Queen Unfortunately we have to announce the cancellation of these 2 amazing shows. Both of these shows have been performing at the Linsmore Tavern (1298 Danforth Ave) for years. It's always a fantastic night for everyone when these two acts perform. We always have 100+ people and everyone in attendance goes home happy, b...ecause the bands put on such a great show. Unfortunately with what has taken place in the world the last few months, as of right now we have no clue when we will be able to put on live shows again. This has been a very tough time for everyone in the music industry, from all the musicians, the venues, the venues staff and to all of the music fans who support our music scene. One of the most difficult parts of this, is the uncertainty of when venues can re-open. What will the rules be when the venues re-open? Will we be able to put on full capacity shows like the two that would have happened this weekend if we were open? It looks like that will not be the case, at least in the early phase of music venues being re-opened. I am sure most venues will tell you, that a reduced capacity will be a major problem for them. There will have to be some big adjustments made by venues if this happens. We have kept pretty quiet over the last few months and have just been following the government's mandate closely. We will continue to do that until we get some clarity on when it's possible to re-open. Once we know when venues can re-open and what the rules are going to be, we will then make the appropriate decisions and adjustments needed. We really miss our amazing and loyal customers. We miss having all of the incredibly talented musicians playing their hearts out on our stage. We miss having a full house on a Friday or Saturday night, where everyone from the band, to the customers, to our employees go home happy because it was such a fun night. Hopefully soon, we can return to this.

Linsmore Tavern 10.06.2020

One of the last shows at the Linsmore Tavern (1298 Danforth Ave) before we closed our doors due to Covid-19, was with Shelley Hamilton's Blood Harmony. It was an amazing show that evening and at the time, no one knew exactly what was going to happen and if there would be anymore live music in the near future. One of the songs that Juno Award winning, Nova Scotian Shelley Hamilton performed live that evening for the first time, was a song called Stay Strong. This beautiful son...g and great speech in the intro has really defined what us as people have had to go through these past few weeks. Check out the video below of this amazing performance and magical moment at the Linsmore Tavern 3 days before we closed our stage. Also if you enjoy the song, you can check out this song on Shelley Hamilton's Bandcamp page here: https://bloodharmony.bandcamp.com/track/stay-strong https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VmX_NvXF9kw&authuser=1 See more

It's a very sad day at the Linsmore Tavern, as we lost one of our great customers today. For those who have come to the Linsmore over the last 10 years during a soccer match, you would know who David Garrett is. Dave was a passionate football fan from England who was a diehard supporter of his hometown team, Wolverhampton Wolves and of course his beloved English National Team (who would drive him nuts during every International tournament). Dave was a very authentic man who w...ould speak his mind, but would also give you the shirt off of his back. He was a true friend who would go out of his way to do anything for you. He always tipped and treated all of our bartenders very well and there is not a customer around who would buy more rounds for the regulars then him. He loved his Stella Artois and is one of the most knowledgeable football fans you would ever meet. Our thoughts go out to Dave's family, his son and his colleagues at Blunt Advertising who will miss him dearly. We are going to miss you so much Dave, we know you are in a better place right now drinking Stella's with your old friend Ian and watching your beloved Wolves flourish in the Premier League. RIP David Garrett See more

Right now with the Linsmore Tavern (1298 Danforth Ave) being closed and with no live music shows in the province, we believe it's a good time to share some music of artists who have performed in the past at our place! You might have seen Phillip Vonesh behind the bar at the Linsmore where he does bartend for us, but also on our stage where he has played a number of shows in the last year with his band, Phillip Vonesh and The Spare Parts! Phillip Vonesh is an extremely talented singer/songwriter with a distinct roots & americana sound. He just released a new EP 'Cold Hands / Warm Heart' on Bandcamp. Music fans, you can check out this amazing local artist through his Bancamp page and support his music! https://phillipvonesh.bandcamp.com/
