Thank you everyone who participated in the Georgetown Lions Drive-Through Visit With Santa! Over 150 generous families participated in the event and donated 406 pounds of food and donated $575 to the Georgetown Bread Basket! And a special thank you to members of our community who volunteered and supported the event. Merry Christmas!

For those of you who were able to attend last night, we know the lineup was long. And we know that many people were turned away - we wish we could have accommodated everyone. We were simply overwhelmed by the number of people from our community, and those around us, who wished to attend. We are overwhelmed by your generosity. We were able to fill five vehicles from floor to ceiling with your food and toy donations! The donations will support those most in need in our comm...unity. We are also overwhelmed by the thousands of smiles, children's laughter and holiday spirit on display by everyone in attendance! We hope you we able to forget about the difficulties we have shared in 2020 and enjoy the spirit of the season. We thank you for helping make last night safe and joyful for everyone. Georgetown Santa Claus Parade

THANK YOU to everyone who supported the Georgetown Lions Club at this weekends bottle drive! The club was able to raise over $900, and all proceeds will support our community. A special thank you to the staff at The Beer Store and Georgetown Marketplace for your support.

The Lions Club of Georgetown Ontario is pleased to announce that we have supported the Georgetown Salvation Army with a $1,500 donation towards their goal. This donation was made in part from donations received at the Georgetown Santa Claus Parade. Thank you!

An event like today's parade is not possible without the support of the community. Many of our sponsors graciously removed their presence at the parade to help us reach our volunteer limits. Thank you to all of our sponsors for making Santa's visit possible! Due to the overwhelming response of this year's Santa Claus Parade, the Georgetown Lions Club is proud to present a "Drive-Through Visit With Santa!" on Sunday, December 13th. - Tickets available here: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/georgetown-lions-drive-through- - This event is for families in Georgetown who were not able to see Santa Claus the day of the Georgetown Santa Claus Parade. - You MUST have a ticket to gain access to the event.... - Tickets are limited and on a first-come first-served basis. Tickets are free of charge. - One ticket per family please. Only one ticket needed per vehicle. - You will select a ticket for a specific 20 minute time slot for Sunday, December 13th. - The location for the event will be revealed to ticket holders 3 hours prior to their scheduled ticket time. - Donations of non-perishable food items and cash will be accepted on behalf of the Georgetown Bread Basket. This event is brought to you by volunteers with the Lions Club of Georgetown Ontario and the Town of Halton Hills.

SANTA CLAUS COMES TO TOWN... TODAY!!

On November 16 the Province of Ontario moved Halton Region into the Red Zone to help control the spread of COVID-19. With only a few days to adjust, we were required to reduce our volunteer count from 100 to 25 people. This has a big impact on the Georgetown Santa Claus Parade scheduled for tomorrow. The Georgetown Lions Club is very aware of the support and enthusiasm for our parade, especially this year. At an emergency meeting it was decided that the Show Must Go On!... However we are required to eliminate some of our planned features. Most features still remain: - Santa Claus will be there in his sleigh - You can bring your letters to Santa Claus - Party Cinemas will be broadcasting in the park - A small gift will be handed out from our sponsors - You can still bring a food, toy or cash donation; - Volunteers will be on hand to guide you safely through the park in the comfort of your car. The Georgetown Santa Claus Parade is run by volunteers with the Georgetown Lions Club and others in our community. The format for this years parade is brand new to the organizers, even before these last minute changes. We ask that our guests be patient with volunteers, and we will do our best to maximize fun and safety for all! THANK YOU!
