Thank you so much Armour Transportation Systems on behalf of Multiple District N for renewing your eyeglass transportation agreement with us. Armour moves eyeglasses into Bishops Falls Correctional in Newfoundland for recycling from Districts N1 and N2 in the maritimes. The power of partnerships. The gift of sight.

It's been a difficult year, but your friendly Stephenville Lions are still serving our community.. You may not see us, but we're still here. Some are serving up a take out Christmas Community Cafe lunch, others prepped the veggies.. While others may be sitting next to a Salvation Army kettle.. When you see the yellow vest.. Stop and say hi.. We are still here.

Today we celebrate World Braille Day! We celebrate World Braille Day every year on January 4th because it’s Louis Braille’s birthday. He’s the inventor of braille! Louis was born in 1809 in France and became blind after a childhood accident. But, he quickly mastered his new way of living. When Louis was only 15 years old, he created a reading and writing system based on Charles Barbier’s night writing system. We know Louis’ system today as braille. Adjusted over time, braille is now easier to read and used all over the world!
