They are incredible musicians. They are down-to-earth people. They are a laugh riot. They are... Titanium Quartet! Last night, we soaked in Titanium's wisdom through breakout sectionals and a full chorus Q&A. Much like Lions Gate, they are the 2020 International Silver Medalists and Most Entertaining Quartet. No wonder we get along so well! In addition to their musical knowledge, we learned about their inspiring quartet journey. As their bass Lindsay put it, they're always th...inking "How do we give back and do good for this community that has given us so much?" Truly the definition of humble. We shared lots of laughter (there were wigs involved. . . you had to be there). More than that, they gave us their time during a difficult moment in their personal lives. SPECIAL GUEST ALERT! We had another superb rehearsal last night full of fun shenanigans and lots of great singing - but that wasn't even the best part! We were very fortunate to be joined by Justin Miller - Director of Westminster Chorus (2019 BHS International Chorus Champions). Justin was just what we needed to push us deeper into maximizing our potential through effective practice, and teaching us how to communicate our goals through our heart vs. our mind. ... It’s Wednesday, do you know what that means? Well only that we stayed up late last night wired from another amazing rehearsal! It has been 32 weeks since we have all been together singing in our hall, but that hasn’t stopped us from having fantastic zoom rehearsals! We had so many highlights last night, from bringing back old warm-ups to adding challenges to our favourites, and working on our contest set with our amazing Shelly to bring the emotions and the joy out of our son...gs. We were all super excited to learn about our guest for next week keep your eyes peeled to find out who it is! Another special part of last night was watching our Grinch package being presented during this past week’s virtual International Convention. It was wonderful to hear what the hosts had to say, and to relive the amazing memories we have of that magical performance. It was a very heartfelt time discussing all the hard work that we put in to it, the joy we got out of it, and how the message stays true during this time. And of course, the night was filled with lots of singing! When checking in with our members as to how they are doing, we get the gamut! People are dealing with more than we know right now. For most, this separation has gone on longer than expected, and maybe the change of season plays into this, but it seems that all that frantic paddling underwater is giving way to authentic raw emotion being revealed.
