Fireplace is crooked. After I removed the river rock facing, this shell is out by 3 inches to the walls. To reface this thing I am going to have to build out one side. Stay tuned,I'll update this!

This chimney unfortunately had to be completely torn down to the ground as water entry into the chimney at roofline worsened the creosote buildup and eventually clogged it. Having a wet chimney shocked the clay square flue tiles you see here. Nearly every one was badly cracked. The only good news in this story is that this was dealt with before a significant chimney fire. The customer was unaware that it had gotten this bad, but the deterioration up top really played havoc with the wood stove venting in this chimney.

A nice little roof up chimney rebuild on a heritage home. Rebuilding this 80+ year old chimney has extended the life of the chimney and alleviated an ongoing moisture problem. While the clay bricks were in good shape, the mortar had disintegrated in places, leaving holes and very loose brick. No hammer needed to dismantle this chimney down to roofline as the bricks were so loose.

Custom fabricated flashing pans! Not only do they look great, but that can also significantly reduce the amount of water entry into a chimney, and extend the life of your chimney. The collars are designed to fit hooded concrete chimney pots. Here are some examples of custom pans which I recently designed and installed (fabricated by Esther's Sheet Metal).
