This morning the Bank of Canada increased the overnight lending rate to 0.75%, a 25 basis point increase. As many will read this is the first rate hike in 7 years & likely will not be the last hike before spring of 2018 (as there is speculation that there could be 2 further rate hikes). With the strong possibility of further increases to come, this is an excellent time to review your current debt(s) and your mortgage rate(s) as the cost of borrowing will be increasing. If you... were possibly looking at any type of debt consolidation or mortgage refinance, this is the right time to start that conversation.
