Important Notice As we all know, Covid-19 is quickly on the move here in Nova Scotia Here at the salon, we already take all proper precautions and follow al...l government rules and guidelines to keep ourselves and our clients and families healthy and safe Unfortunately with the quick rise in Covid numbers, and the rapid spread of hot spots in the HRM, we will again be taking NEW additional measures to keep us protected. Please note these regulations apply to ALL that not only visit the salon, but that work there as well Please WAIT in your car until notified by your server when it is safe to enter . Face masks are mandatory and to be worn throughout the entire visit Hand sanitizing upon arrival and during your visit mandatory. Social distancing is provided at all times during your visit with limited numbers of persons You will be asked when booking your appointment , health and travel questions regarding Covid-19 and may result in rescheduling your current time booked If you have ANY Covid type symptoms, or have travelled recently to Halifax or any Halifax hotspots, you will be asked by your server to reschedule your current appointment by two weeks. If you choose to travel to the HRM between now and your appointment time, your scheduled spot will also be postponed to a later date Please keep in mind, we are doing our best to keep ourselves and YOU, our guests safe. We have the next 5 weeks as our busiest time of year and always try our very best to accommodate everyone. With the possible threat of closure to our industry due to Covid-19, we MUST do what’s right We do not want to reschedule or postpone appointments to the possible New Year, so please,please,please respect and follow all salon rules. ****IMPORTANT**** After watching the news these last few days, it is evident that Nova Scotia is officially in our second wave. We are all very nervous of a potential lock down in the coming weeks and would absolutely be devastated if it happens before and during our Christmas season. We, at All Dolled Up, are still taking all the appropriate measures to ensure our clients safety. It is absolutely NECESSARY that clients also follow the rules and guidelines put into place by ...our association. * There is no waiting area in our building. You must WAIT in your car until called in by your stylist. The door will be locked and there will be no exceptions. If you are getting dropped off, be aware that you will have to wait outside until your appointment. * Masks must be worn at all times and they must be worn appropriately. Nose and mouth must be fully covered. * You must come to your appointment ALONE. We realize that this is an inconvenience when it comes to child care but for now, these are our rules. * If you are feeling any cold or flu symptoms at all, PLEASE STAY HOME. Even if you were tested and are certain it is not COVID-19, the people you are infecting do not want to have to isolate and be tested as well. * Please be patient and kind. This is a very busy time for us and we are doing the absolute best we can to provide a safe environment for our clients. We want to ensure we are not shut down again and are here to make sure you are All Dolled Up for the holidays.

I understand that this is an extremely stressful time for graduates and everyone is wondering what is going to happen with proms. I have a lot of girls booked in for June 25th and June 26th for their prom hair. I know everyone is waiting to have final answers on dates, but if anyone is cancelling their appointments, please let me know asap. I have a long list of clients waiting to get in and I am also trying to accommodate other girls who have different appointments with photographers. We are doing the absolute best we can to accommodate people so please let me know if you need to cancel any appointments.

Wow! You all sure know how to make a girl feel loved! It has been over 5 straight hours of responding to messages and booking appointments since we got the announcement. I know I still have more to get to, but I am going to call it a night and get back to things in the morning. I can not thank you enough for your support and patience during all of this. We just got the green light and I am very happy to announce, WE ARE OPENING JUNE 5th!!!! I will be taking appointments right away but please be patient because there are a lot of you and I am going to try my hardest to get people in ASAP. I can NOT wait to see you all!!

Yesterday I received an email with some guidelines from the Cosmetology Association and I thought I would share with you on what we can expect when salons open (there is still no set date) *upon arrival to your appointment you will have to wait in your car until you receive a text that you are able to come in. *no one is allowed to accompany you to your appointment. Please come alone... * you will have to wash/sanitize you hands once you come arrive and so will I. Hand sanitizer will be supplied *masks are mandatory for myself and the client. If you don’t have one yet I recommend you get one. One that goes behind your ears and not tied around your head so I am able to cut/color your hair. If you do not have a mask, I will have limited reusable cloth masks available that I will wash after each client. * Everything will be cleaned and sanitized between each appointment *if you are experiencing any symptoms of covid-19, the flu or have travelled outside of Nova Scotia in the last 2 weeks your appointment must be rescheduled. This one is CRUCIAL. I have high risk, immune compromised family members and a small child. Reschedule your appointment! *no double booking which means even more limited appointments. *appointment times must be extended due to all of the extra precautions that need to be taken. It is more important than ever that you arrive on time for your appointment. Being late will result in a cancelled appointment! *cancellation policy. I’ve never had one before but with appointments in high demand it’s not fair to cancel last minute. You are taking away from someones chance to get an appointment. 24 hrs notice is required or you will be charged a fee to rebook. (This doesn’t include emergencies, I know things happen) *etranfers. When I return to work etranfers must be sent before you leave. There is wifi at the shop so there are no exceptions. I can’t keep track after people leave and it’s not fair to leave any place of business without paying first. This isn’t an association rule, it’s mine! I will post as soon as I know a date for reopening. I am expecting June sometime. Appointments will be limited due to all the new regulations. We will be trying our best to get everyone in but know it will take time.

The conference meeting today was very informative on the guidelines we will have to follow upon re-opening the salon, however, no opening date was announced. They are giving us time to prepare and get all of the PPE we are required to have but the association is still waiting for the government to decide when we will be allowed to open. The only information they were able to offer is that Nova Scotia doesn't seem to be following the same "phases" as other provinces and it seems that we will be doing things differently here. They do seem hopeful that reopening will be within the next month. I hope this helps and I will continue to post any updates as they come my way!

Tomorrow morning at 11, I will be taking part in a "Round the Table" talk with the Executive Board Chair and Executive Director of the Cosmetology Association of Nova Scotia. They will be talking about proposed guidelines for the opening of salons and will hopefully be providing us with more answers on an opening date. Fingers crossed for some more news for you all tomorrow! Stay tuned...

I know a lot of clients have been asking if we have any dates yet for re-opening and I wish I had an answer for you all, believe me! We are in the dark, just as much as everyone else As of right now, we have been given different guidelines and protocol that we will be required to follow when we do re-open, hopefully this is a good sign. A date has not been announced as of yet, but I PROMISE you all that I will make a post to let everyone know the second I find out when that will be. I miss you all more than words can say and I can't wait to see each and every one of you in the (hopefully near) future!

It is with a heavy heart, we will be closing the doors at All Dolled Up Hair. I apologize to all clients with upcoming appointments and I will be in touch to reschedule them when we decide it is safe to reopen the salon. To all of my clients, First off, thank you for your continued support. I appreciate each and every one of you. As of right now, all appointments this week will go ahead as planned and I will continue to monitor the situation day to day. Cleaning and sanitizing at the salon is taking place between each client and we ask that you wash your hands when entering the salon and again before leaving. I will be extending my hours this week to accommodate as many of you as possible. However, I will have to cancel any appointments with clients that have travelled outside of the country within the last few weeks (Sorry guys! I still want to hear about those vacays I promise!)
