This image from Pixar’s UP is a scene likely missed by most of its child viewers, but ripped the hearts out of every mother and father that has sat in a puddle of loss, a baby gone. October is Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Month. 1 in 4 women suffer from the loss of their baby through pregnancy, delivery, or infancy. There are likely SEVERAL women on your news feed who have suffered this loss. And you don’t know... about it. We must end the stigma around miscarriage and infertility. We must share our stories so that others may come forward to share theirs. It’s time to shatter the silence. When a child loses his parent, they are called an orphan. When a spouse loses her or his partner, they are called a widow or widower. When parents lose their child, there isn’t a word to describe them. I see you. I hear you. I love you. I love your baby. Feel free to use this post to share your stories of loss, redemption, and to say your bab(ies) name(s)." I am 1 in 4. I lost my youngest son at just 5 hours old. This is my quarantine life now I hope you are all figuring this new way of life. We have been trying to do the same over here! I have been able to meet with a few families and practice safe physical distancing, and coming up with some new studio practices. ... We have a few mini sessions for both kids and families planned that we feel will work for all of us and I am excited to share with you! Someone should have told me that I would be my 10 and 11 year olds personal assistants in 2020. Me: Excuse me Sir, you have a conference call at 10:30am and a Zoom meeting at 1:30pm. Then a video call with Nana after dinner. Kids: ok mom, can you move the 1:30pm zoom to 3pm please, I have a fortnite meeting at 12pm that I can’t move today, and tell Nana that I will squeeze her in at 6:15pm, but I only have 15 minutes.... Me: Ok, and here are those copies you needed. They are due tomorrow. Kids: Ok thanks, you can leave them on my desk when you charge my iPad.
