If customers aren't finding your business online, you're missing out on important touch points in their journey to get to know you and your brand. I chatted recently with Marysia Czarski about this topic on her Create Velocity podcast. Want to listen in? Click below! http://entrepreneursvelocity.com/episode-024-social-media/

The days are getting shorter, darker and colder, which means it's more important than ever to find what motivates you and ! Personally, I'm motivated by (have you seen my IG story today? If not, !) and anything that sparks my creativity. I always tell my kids, " ", and I wholly believe that. The same goes for motivation. Be your own biggest cheerleader!

What makes you smile? People who know me well know that I *love* colourful, happy things. That's just who I am! My favourite @lillypulitzer pieces (like this ) always make me smile and put a spring in my step. Happy surroundings impact more than just my mood. When I'm happy, I show up in a more confident way for my clients (and in life, in general). ... I've had a productive day... working on project tasks; client training session; planning for next week. What a great day! So, now that you know a few things that make *me* smile, I'd love to hear what makes YOU smile! Drop it in the comments below!

What's one thing you're really good at? Something that you're passionate about sharing with the world? One of my superpowers is creative brainstorming. There's almost nothing I love more than flipping 'norms' on their heads. On more than one occasion clients have told me that they appreciate my ability to approach challenges in unique ways and help them see opportunities where there (seemingly) were none. ... That's why I'm planning a half-day creative brainstorming workshop for business owners. Participants won't simply solve problems, they'll actively move towards *changing the way they think* with the support and thought-diversity of other business owners. Sound like something you'd like to do? DM me for more details! Now, what's one thing YOU do well? Share below!

While I've done many sessions and meetings via video conference call these past 8 months, there's still nothing better than meeting people in person! The weather last week was SO beautiful, I took full advantage of it. Client meetings and coffee dates never felt so good! ... A good reminder to always appreciate the little things.

I was *so done* with Mailchimp! I was using the free version and had to wake up at ungodly hours to send emails because the scheduling feature is only available with a paid plan. Email was stressing me out! Then, I found SendFox. I've already set up my welcome email automation, swapped out the old Mailchimp "subscribe" button code on my website and have sent out TWO biz newsletters! Seriously, this is a game-changer. It's easy and stress-free. LOVE IT! And, it's under $...50 USD for a LIFETIME license, including all updates, for 8,000 email contacts. It's completely risk-free - if you don't like it, AppSumo will give you a refund! https://appsumo.8odi.net/4071M

There's nothing more (professionally) satisfying than a successful social media strategy session! Unless, of course, it's followed by a delicious lunch at Riverdale Perk Cafe. The sun is shining, the air is crisp and we're getting stuff done! When you love what you do this much, it's not work, it's a passion. By all accounts, a great day!

Nature is always around us , but it never fails to amaze! It's a constant reminder to never take things for granted; to always look for the hidden gem, the positive side, the unexpected. It's these things that often make the best social media posts for your business, too. People love to see behind-the-scenes footage and how things are made; how a project comes together; how you get to 'the magic'. Even if you don't think those things are interesting, chances are that... someone else will! Look at your business through the lens of your ideal customer. Try new things on your social feeds and see what resonates with your audience. It's always a good idea to inject a bit of personality and humanity into your digital presence. If people can relate to you (and your brand), there's a good chance they'll think of you when they need the product or service you offer.

What inspires you? Whimsical, creative things inspire me, like this little sculptural gem I took a pic of. (Can you guess what it is? ) Beautiful clothes also inspire me, as do bright patterns (hello, Lilly Pulitzer! ), interesting architecture and pretty much anything you'd find in an art gallery. That's why when I work on projects that are fun, and where I'm surrounded by beautiful things, I get excited. (You could say that work "fills my bucket"!)... This morning, I got to work with a wonderful client (and friend) and it reminded me yet again how lucky I am. We only get so many trips around the sun; doing what we love - and surrounding ourselves with the things that inspire us - is the best way to enjoy every minute. So, what *is* this a picture of? It's a perfume bottle! Perfect by Marc Jacobs

In case you don't already know this about me, I LOVE helping people. The sign says it all... "Do what you love and love what you do". In business and in life, I'm an over-sharer, a giver... and because of this, I used to find it difficult to set boundaries. (I still have my moments, but I'm much better now!) Like so many other moms (parents), COVID hit me hard. One good thing that came out of it, though, is that I value my self-care time even more now than before. It used t...o be important, but now it's *sacred*. I'm making it a priority to take care of myself, and I'm not feeling guilty about the time I spend doing so. Self-care has really evolved for me; before COVID, I was *not* a runner... like, I never ran anywhere! But I am now! I have lots of inspiration, too, thanks to Erin Phelan Fitness and Plant Based Mother Runner. In a few weeks, I'm going to be doing something else I never thought I'd try - a program to reboot my body! (Yep, 2020 is the year of breaking through my terror barriers!) If you're feeling burnt out, or even just need a mind and body reset to get yourself back on track, I think you should check out my friend Erin Phelan's new program, The Healthy Six. Erin is one of the most inspirational people I know... and her clients and friends love her (for good reason!). She will firmly, yet lovingly, kick you into gear! Her program is starting on September 21st; it's 3 weeks of learning how to truly take care of your mind and body, nourish yourself properly, and get rid of all the extra baggage that you might be holding on to (and a few extra #COVIDpounds, too! ) There's group accountability, support and, if you do the work, it can be so transformational. If you want to join me, visit thehealthysix.com for more info. Or reach out to Erin here on FB. I'm sure she will answer any questions you have. (She's a giver and an over-sharer, too! )

We could all use some daily positivity in our lives, right? Little did I know last March, when I made a split-second decision to attend YGTMama Media Co.'s Boss Mama Retreat, that I'd experience such a fulfilling day - the memories of which would carry me through 6 months of COVID isolation. It's like the universe was talking to me, nudging me in that direction, telling me that I'd better go because the pandemic was coming! During that day, my soul was nourished, my cup w...as filled, and I left with a sense of empowerment and a few new friends. I was also introduced to @lovepoweredco, a company that creates the most beautiful affirmations to help keep me in my highest vibration and focusing on positivity everyday. A set of their Femme Affirmation cards was included in our swag bag that day, but because of shipping delays, we were given a digital copy to tide us over until the printed copy arrived. Well, it came today, and my heart is bursting with gratitude! What a beautiful addition to my office and a wonderful complement to my daily gratitude practice! Thank you, Love Powered Co., for empowering us all with these beautiful cards and their wonderful messages.

I saw this in a coffee shop the other day and took it as yet another sign from the universe because staying grounded is so important. (Except when dreaming BIG...but that's another post, for another day!) In the context of your digital presence, the best social media posts are those written intuitively and with passion, authenticity and heart. If you're grounded and in touch with yourself - you're confident in your ability to serve your clients AND you know what your 'supe...rpowers' are and how they can make an impact on others' lives/businesses - then you will show up as the best version of yourself! There will always be someone who has the same skills you have or provides the same product/service, but the difference is YOU - your unique delivery, vibration or personality. So stay grounded; post on social from a place of authenticity and service, and trust that the people who are meant to work with you or purchase your products will find you.

Lisa Pedersen Media 07.06.2020

Who will YOU inspire today? It's up to each of us to decide how we show up in the world every day. Like everyone else, I have good days and bad days, but when I set a positive intention each morning, it *really does* impact how I interact with others. I'm all about lifting up and inspiring others; I have faith that, when I need it, there will be positive people around to lift me up, too. ... Surround yourself with the best people, and you will be at your best. Spread the love... tag someone who brings out the best in you!

Scene from an office...

Lisa Pedersen Media 07.05.2020

It's amazing, the things I used to take for granted. Before COVID, I thought nothing of packing up my laptop and working at a local coffeeshop for part of the day. It was a nice break from my home office, and gave me some much-needed human interaction (there's nothing better than running into friends...I felt like the mayor of my 'hood!). It was completely normal to meet up with clients there, too. . Then the pandemic hit, and life changed dramatically. Between physical dist...ancing and cafes no longer hosting folks inside, suddenly something that was once part of my daily life was gone. I realize, in the big scheme of things, this is a drop in the bucket(privilege acknowledged!), but it goes to show how seemingly simple routines and habits can impact our quality of life. . So, when I was matched up with a biz accountability partner through @mamasandco, it was like a lifeline in the COVID storm. (Funny story... we live around the corner from each other! I know, right?!? #MeantToBe) I can't tell you how wonderful it has been to get back to (a physically distanced version of) normal! Thank you, @adriennewetherell... you are an amazing person, a supportive #BizBestie and a real inspiration. Here's to many more coffee meetings - and successes celebrated - in the 'hood! See more

Lisa Pedersen Media 05.05.2020

I sure have missed in-person collaboration these past few months, so it's really nice to be (distanced) working with one of my fav clients today. You can catch Dave Lackie 's latest beauty segment (with my camera handiwork ) on Cityline on Aug. 15th!

Lisa Pedersen Media 03.05.2020

This shot. It's great, right? But what you *don't* know is that it took me 6 tries to get it. First, I saw the butterfly land, so I took a quick pic, to capture it before it flew away. Then, I took a cautious step closer, hoping to get a clearer shot (I mean, 7x zoom isn't ideal! )... Soon, I realized that it probably wouldn't fly away unless there was sudden movement, so I took my time and utilized my camera's features (focus, exposure, etc), attempting to get the best image. . Clients often ask me what differentiates posts shared on their timeline with those in their Stories, and this is a wonderful analogy for that! There's content that feels right - a spontaneous image or video that we're eager to share - even if it's not "the perfect shot" - that's real and authentic to who we are. This content is *perfect* for Stories. . Then there's content that's more curated...beautiful images, with captions that are well-conceived (inspired, even) that have the benefit of reflection and thought , but are still authentic. This content is ideal for your timeline. . Stories are a wonderful way of letting your audience get to know you on a more personal level, so if you're not utilizing this feature, give it a try! . #socialmediatipsandtricks #socialmediacoaching #socialmediamentor See more

I came across this hand painted rock while on my morning walk. The words resonated with me... "Small but mighty". This applies to so many things... - An ACTION might be small, but it has the ability to impact a situation, or a life, for the better - using WORDS to encourage and support may seem like a small act, but can change a person, and their outlook, forever - TEACHING our kids compassion and empathy by treating others with respect and carrying out small acts of kindnes...s every day results in adults with integrity, who value kindness and justice above all . These things are truly 'small but mighty'. . When sharing your brand on social media, the same rules apply... sharing what's important to you, and letting your audience see who you *truly are* is the most authentic way to attract your ideal audience. Lead with your heart; it will never let you down. . Share or comment below if you agree! See more

Hey guys... with everything going on in the world right now, what I have to say pales in comparison to the many voices of POC who need to be heard. Starting today, I will mute my page and cease posting my usual content until June 7th in an effort to minimize the noise on social media. I will take this time to listen, learn and #AmplifyMelanatedVoices. Sending love and light...... #mutedandlistening #blackouttuesday

Lisa Pedersen Media 23.03.2020

I've always taught my kids to stand up for the underdog; to be a friend to those in need of a friend; that not speaking up or taking action when someone's being bullied equals complicity in that behaviour. . It has saddened me greatly to see and hear about the injustices happening to people of colour. As a privileged white person, I'm unable to understand their lived experiences. I can, however, have compassion and empathy; educate myself more; listen more; be an ally; rais...e my kids to understand their privilege and how they can use it for good in this world - to share, respect and appreciate the viewpoints of POC and stand up when they see injustice. . I haven't posted about #blacklivesmatter and the atrocities that have happened (and continue to happen) because I didn't want to say the wrong thing. My fear has been that, despite good intentions, my words would come out wrong...that I would offend someone. But I know this isn't about me. Even if my words are flawed, please know that my intentions are not, as I continue to listen, learn and share.
