The aptly named Castle Mountain lies half way between Banff and Lake Louise, Alberta. It’s one of the most unique and distinctive peaks in the area, not only because of it’s colour, but also it’s shape. Unlike many of it’s neighbouring mountains which are more the traditional thumb jutting up into the sky, Castle Mt. Is just what the name infers, a long Castle wall surrounding a central bastion. The only thing missing are some knights and fair maidens.

In the midst of this pandemic, a little solitude is just what the doctor ordered. We are so blessed to live in Canada, and in particular, living in Calgary, Alberta. We have a number of National Parks, UNESCO World Heritage sites and space to relax during these stressful times. We always enjoy ourselves when we are surrounded by mountains.
