Thank you to everyone that has supported my business since we opened our doors in January 2019. We are now full and not accepting any new clients. We do have a waiting list for anyone who is still interested in upcoming care or workshops.

Here is some info on my STEM Home Construction and Engineering Workshops Meals are included (snacks and a 4:30 dinner) Please bring:... -clothes that can get dusty and dirty -a change of clothes -your imagination and sense of wonder! Sometimes kids like having their own things, if you have them, you are welcome to bring (I also have some spares): -a tool belt -scissors -hearing protection (baby banz) -eye protection (swim goggles work great) - gardening gloves (I have two spare pairs) We will be doing real construction work, climbing ladders supervised, sitting on the floor and getting our hands dirty! Depending on the day you are coming somethings we will be doing include: - insulating the hot water lines - marking flow of water through the pipes - marking out cabinet, toilet, etc. locations - running low voltage cable - as-building - and of course talking about the engineering behind all of this. We usually do a child version mock-up upstairs to gain a better understanding of what is going on in the real world.

The female registration in our STEAM Home Engineering and Construction Workshops is still at 16% so I am offering a scholarship to one lucky little girl. Women in STEM is a really important issue to me and I take time out of my day each year to mentor young women considering or pursing careers in STEM. This year I will be volunteering with the littlest and youngest of our society. We still have a few spots available for our STEAM Home Construction Workshops (see below for dates) before drywall goes up if your kids want to see inside the walls of a house (more workshops later, but the walls will be up). The kids have had a lot of fun with our preschool/elementary engineering and construction workshops. We learned how to mark-off things for framing from the drawings and how to run HRV lines. Who doesn't love tape and scissors!
