Let's talk about the partners in postpartum. After having a baby, it's sometimes hard for them to know how they can help and fit into their new role! Here are some ways for the partner to get involved.... Keep her company with the late-night feedings (if possible). Make sure she always has one-handed healthy snacks and a full water bottle. During feedings, make sure she has everything she needs to make her feel comfortable ( pillow, snack, water bottle, phone). Wash and sterilize bottles, soothers etc. Once feeding is done, burp the baby, change their diaper and hold them while mom rests. Be a supportive listening ear on how she is doing and feeling. Validate her feelings. Take the other siblings outside for a bit so mom and baby can rest. Share in the comments below how your partner gets involved. #newparents #parentingtips #partnertips #postpartum #postpartumtips #parentsofhalton #parentsofmississauga

Happy Saturday ! It's #smallbusinesssaturday And now more than ever small businesses (including mine) need all the support. I get it, especially this year, finances might be tight and you might not be able to buy or hire from small businesses. BUT supporting them doesn't always mean dishing out . Check out some great ways . Grateful for you all and the love and support . #Repost @thedoulatoolbox ... Supporting my small business doesn’t have to mean hiring me as your doula. It can mean telling an expectant friend about me, sending them to my IG or tagging them in one of my posts. It can mean sending my posts to your stories on the regular. That helps me stay relevant in our community & top of mind to your friends & family in this season of life. It could mean connecting me with another business that could be a great collaboration opportunity. You see, I love our community. I love helping people navigate their pre & postnatal journey because not only does it benefit them & help them have a beautiful experience, but it helps our community as a whole. The ripple effect of happy & healthy birthing people & new families is a real thing. So if you’re able to support me even just by engaging and sharing my info, I can keep pouring into this community and sharing me passion. Of course, if you are looking for a doula, I mean... I know a pretty good one! Thanks so much for being here! Much love and gratitude for your support. #birthworker #doulabusiness #doula #postpartumdoula #birthdoula #doulamarketing #thedoulatoolbox #doulabusinesscoach #supportsmallbusiness #supportlocalbusiness

December is always a fun month at our house. Celebrating Sinterklaas (St. Nicholas) on Dec 5th and 6th. Along with lots of baking, Christmas movies, crafts, elf appearances, being with family and of course the countdown to Christmas. For the past few years, we have been making a kindness advent calendar. We got this idea from a really good friend and my guys love it. This year the two older boys took over this project. They all the windows thought of all the kindness acts..., wrote out most of the calendar and decorated it. They are so proud of their work . I love this tradition as it reminds them (and us parents) that kind acts go a long way, especially this year. Of course, Elf brought them a chocolate advent calendar too . Need the sweet treats . This year might look different for some of our traditions (thanks COVID ) which makes me sad but we will make sure it's a special time . Do you have December traditions? What are some of your favourites? #actsofkindness #kindnessadventcalendar #familytraditions #family

This is such a great visual about milk supply! Reposted from @aloha.nutrition Do you feel your breasts and ever think, I don’t have any milk, then you start doubting your supply and feel the need to top your baby off with a bottle?... I know I’ve been there, and I’m a lactation consultant!! Once your milk supply regulates and You no longer feel engorged, it’s easy to think you don’t have milk, but this isn’t true. is baby gaining weight? is baby having adequate output? is baby overall content after feedings? do you hear swallows? Then you’re making milk mama. Trust your body and trust your baby. Sure there are things that can decrease supply like stress, menstrual cycle, pregnancy, infrequent or inefficient milk removal, medications etc, but for the most part, if your breasts are being emptied and you just happen to feel soft, you’re still making milk Did you doubt your supply because you felt soft? #lowmilksupply #lowmilksupplyproblems #breastfeeding #breastfeedingstruggles #dontdoubtyourbody #trusttheprocess #ibclccertifiedlactationconsultant #babysgrowing #milksupply
