We opened the Farm Stand today. And it was bananas busy from the second we put the signs out; and holy moly we are so thankful. Thankful for the people who choose to buy Cumberland-grown produce, for the businesses who choose to sell and serve our products, and most of all we are thankful for these four farmhands who help us every step of the way.

We’re open! Saturday until dusk - carrots, kale, chard, salad turnips, tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, herbs and flower bouquets while supplies last. All grown here on our little 1 acre farm in Cumberland, BC. This is one of the last days where we will have a full assortment of summer veg; so come and get it while you still can.

It’s Farm Stand Friday! Fresh carrots, cucumbers, zucchini, chard, kale, cherry and slicing tomatoes, parsley, sage, cured garlic and beautiful bouquets of sunflowers and cosmos at the farm stand now. Open until dusk

Scones and clotted cream for this morning’s second breakfast. Topped with a generous swipe of the most delicious blueberry basil preserve courtesy of a neighbourly basil trade with @rossignol_18 Yum!

88 litres minimum. That’s how many litres this family of 6 needs to cover our pasta sauce and chilli requirements for the long tomato-less months of winter and spring. We are still making our basic marinara (tomatoes, garlic, onions and oregano all grown here) and we will be for a few more days. Then on to relish and chutney making sessions. Autumn is intense in the farm kitchen!

Our Farm Stand is closed for a few days while we catch up on homesteading chores and the rest of our fall\winter veg planting. It takes a lot of veggies to make enough marinara sauce to last a family of six from October to late July. So much work from seed to pantry but oh so rewarding!

Farm Stand is open, custom grocery and flower deliveries are finished for the day and we are headed back out to the farm field for more punishment, er... farming. Honestly, hot summer days spent digging and picking and planting and weeding are most times rewarding, sometimes soul shredding! But seeing out happy farm-stand customers and getting to know so many of you as we passed you the literal fruits and veggies of our labour this summer has been a real privilege. We aren’t sure how many days we have left with the Farm Stand open so if you’re needing some Little Acre produce come and get it! Open today, Sunday, until dusk. And don’t forget - garlic orders anytime - $3/head, cured Red Russian, organic seed all grown naturally here on our farm.

Who moustached it better! Farm Stand is open today, Saturday. Carrots are selling like crazy (but we keep the crazy ones for ourselves), tomatoes are going off, and the last of the snacking cucumbers are ready for gobbling up. Open until dusk!

If you don’t have a bouquet of these on your kitchen table right now wtf are you doing with your life? Okay maybe that’s too aggressive... These beauties will be finished soon and then it will rain for like 7 months so.... come and get some sunshine. Before it’s too late.

Not to brag or anything but our parsley is real good. Reeeeaaaalllll good. In the Farm Stand today along with a bunch of other things that taste and smell delicious.

Sundays are slower at the Farm Stand. We have a Farmer’s Market in our Village Square on Sunday’s that we opted out of this season due to the uncertainty of how Corona would affect our area and bc our custom orders, Farm Stand and farming were keeping us busy. Also... did we mention we have two teenagers and two toddlers? Try getting four kids sorted along with loads of produce ready for market every week. You fellow farmers know the struggle. F that is what Jack said wh...en we were considering being a vendor at the @comox_valley_farmers_market this season. He knew his beard would crop a whole new patch of white if we pushed ourselves that far. Next summer things will be different he promises. For now, when passing into the Village of Cumberland, you’ll drive right past our farm so pull in and grab some fresh veggies & fruit & treats.
