How’s everybody doing this week? It was hard (but not surprising) to hear that our restrictions here in Vancouver will continue through Christmas. As a small business owner and also a hospital pharmacist, I’ve really felt the push and pull of the economy vs public health this year. I’m so thankful I was able to resume sessions after the spring and keep this business alive... especially that I was able to keep my studio space (just barely). I have simultaneously wished for ev...en stronger restrictions this fall, as the hospital has been seeing more patients, more outbreaks, and more staff shortages as the weeks go by. There’s no easy answer, and it’s hard to keep doing the right thing when you may not know the stories of the families affected, but trust me, your efforts are so worth it. Stay strong! This photo reminds me that there’s still so much happiness all around. I hope everyone can find some peace and joy in what will be a much quieter holiday season

This beautiful mother-to-be was the subject of my at last outdoor session of the year. It was a great fall season where I saw fewer families, but for longer sessions, which was really nice actually. Hoping to wrap up editing this week then it will be full steam ahead to Christmas!

Obviously I’m biased, but I can’t think of a better gift than family photography. Very honoured to get to be part of this beautiful mama’s birthday!

This one just screams 'childhood summers'. Hard to believe it was only 3 weeks ago (she said while wearing her toque indoors)

This session started with some curve-balls! As I drove up to our location, my heart sank to see all the trucks and tents that Vancouverites immediately recognize as a massive film production. 'We'll work around them', I thought. No. Hundreds of people, 12 foot scrims, cables taped along the cliffs and walkways, fluorescent pilons everywhere, etc. Luckily I knew of a great place about 10min away, so off we went, BUT just as we were pulling in there, thick fog rolled in from the ocean, and the sun disappeared We decided to roll with it, and yay, the photos actually turned out great... very west coast, right? #2020 #rollinwiththepunches
