February is here and love is in the air and hair! We are one month into 2021 already and I know we are all holding onto hope that this year just has to be better. I wish I knew the answer to that but to be honest no one does. So I got thinking how can I make February a little more special for my clients this month as I feel we could all use a little pick me up! And my philosophy is if you look good you feel good! I also know the importance of mental health right n...ow and how many of us aren’t seeing many people and friends. Covid and Hair Loss. So recently I have had a few clients come sit in my chair and express their concern about hair loss. Now some hair loss is normal, the average hair cycle we lose about 50 to 100 hairs a day. We are one year into the pandemic in Canada right now and they are finding out ways the virus has an affect on our health, with that being severe hair shedding. This condition is called telogen effluvium and can be caused by stressful events. Now someone who is experi...encing telogen effluvium they might lose up to 300 hairs per day which can lead to noticeable hair thinning. Some people who had Covid and have since recovered are experiencing telogen effluvium months later. Even people who have not contracted the virus are also experiencing this condition due to the stress. Emotional and physical trauma, pregnancy, or infection can also cause hair to switch from the growing phase into the shedding phase. There is good news this type of hair loss is temporary and it usually lasts three to six months before returning to the normal hair cycle. Typically most people will resolve the thinning issue within one year. Rogaine might help with the issue to decrease the amount of shedding so please talk to your doctor if this is something you're experiencing. Salon update and google form

Hello, opening day is tomorrow just a few reminders! All rules and regulations are still in place. Masks MUST be worn at all times. You are more than welcome to wear your own mask but just keep in mind if we are coloring your hair the straps will get stained. Also if you are experiencing ANY symptoms what so ever you will need to rebook your appointment for a later date. One last thing, E-Transfers will no longer be accepted. Merry Christmas! This year has been a bit of a challenge to say the least. And as I sit back this holiday season and reflect on 2020, My salon would not be here if it wasn’t for each and everyone of my clients supporting me through all of this. I’m so so so grateful! To my wonderful clients, the last 4 days have been a whirlwind thank you all for being so understanding and moving your schedules around to accommodate mine! Unwrapped Life Bars are on the shelves!

Rest easy my sweet Ellie Last night Ellie suddenly and unexpectedly passed away. She had a form of cancer called Hemangiosarcoma. Which is cancer of the blood vessel walls. There are little signs with this type of cancer and we were unaware she was even sick and the vet did everything they could to save her. She will be missed by so many.

Happy Friday! I will be away from my phone this weekend for some downtime! I will get back to everyone after the weekend! Happy Mother’s Day to all you Mamas out then!
