I am so very happy to share that Little Learners Preschool will be operating this upcoming school year. I am sure you are all aware the government has given approval for schools to reopen this fall. Along with the reopening the government has also outlined specific policies and procedures that are required to safely operate preschools. After much consideration, phone calls, emails and meetings we are nearly ready to share how preschool will operate this 2020/21 school year.... We are very confident that this year will run and operate just as effective as previous years. We are excited to have the children return and bring back some normalcy. I understand that everyone has different views and concerns regarding COVID and the upcoming school year. I would like to assure you that we are taking every precaution necessary to keep our students safe. If you have made the decision that you will not be sending your child to preschool this upcoming school year please let me know as soon as possible. I respect your decision as you have to do what is best for your family. Within the next couple weeks I will be emailing all preschool families with important start up information including what our days will look like. I will also be sharing exciting news about our learning environment. Unfortunately, due to this pandemic, long term care facilities will not be open to the public by September. We have been working closely with Diamond House and Elmwood to discuss alternative locations. I look forward to sharing this with you. We will greatly miss all our dear friends at Diamond House and Elmwood but I have hope that we will be together soon.

During this time of uncertainty I know there are many questions whether there will be preschool in the fall and how it will operate. I am eagerly awaiting the announcement from the government as this decision is solely based on government recommendations. Both Little Learners locations, Diamond House in Warman and Elmwood Residences in Saskatoon are phase 5 of Saskatchewan’s reopen plan. The residents at our locations and our students safety is our number one priority. Presc...hool will follow all restrictions and regulations set out by the government. In the case that Preschools are approval to operate but long term facilities are still restricted we will relocate to an alternate location until it is safe to enter the homes. Congratulation Graduates! Last week our graduates walked the red carpet and received their preschool diploma with many fans watching and cheering for them. Residents of Diamond house watched from the windows while each graduate celebrated their accomplishment with family by their side. This was a graduation like no other but I’m sure unforgettable. Thank you parents for all your support in making this day special for your little ones. Congratulations everyone and all the best in kindergarten! Mrs. Clayton and Mrs. H are very proud of you! It’s been a school year unlike any other for Little Learners Preschool. With a successful transition to learning from a distance, we have finished the year with our heads held high and our students ready to take on their next challenges. We are so proud of the 32 students that have graduated this year. You all have done an amazing job and we are proud of all the growth and learning we have accomplished together. Remember to always try your best and be the very best YOU! Than...k you for all the love, laughter, stories, and memories we made throughout the year. We will always cherish our times together. All the best in kindergarten! You got this!! We also want to thank all our preschool parents for being amazingly supportive throughout the entire year. Thank you parents for all the time and patience you have put into your child’s learning, especially during these last couple months. Through fun and entertaining photos and videos, we have not stopped interacting and enjoying our time together. I appreciate all you have done for Little Learners and contributing to another successful year. Your children are blessed to have such amazing parents. We are thankful for all our families because without you preschool would not be possible.You are all greatly appreciated and it was an honour to be your child’s teacher this year. Thank you Diamond House Care Home for once again welcoming us into your home. We are so blessed to call Diamond House home to Little Learners Preschool. Staff and residents you are all absolutely wonderful. We are very grateful for you and our time together this year. Thank you Harps & Halos Photography for taking our beautiful grad photos! Amazing We look forward to making new memories in the fall with all our returning families as well as new families starting out with their educational journey. Do you have recyclables taking up space in your garage that you are wanting to get rid of? Little Learners will gladly take these off your hands and all proceeds will go towards our outdoor project. Little Learners Preschool has been working towards creating an outdoor learning space that will enable students to learn in the outdoor environment along side the residents at Diamond House. Please message me if you are interested in donating your recyclables. They can be dropped off at anytime or we can arrange to pick up. Thank you!

WOW what an incredible turn out we had today for the parade. This goes to show what an awesome community we live in. Thank you everyone for taking the time to join us and making this day extra special for our preschool grandmas and grandpas as well as for the residents at Mennonite Special Care Home. It was so nice to see many smiling faces and familiar little voices. Mrs. H and myself have been missing you all. It is very hard to be apart but we are thankful you are all heal...thy and safe with your family. Thank you families of the residents for joining us and on behalf of preschool we want to once again thank you for sharing your loved ones with us. Thank you City of Warman - Wade Eberle and RCMP for helping us spread a little joy throughout Warman. The fire department did have plans to join us but were called away at last minute. Thank you emergency crews for all you do! Thank you staff of Diamond House for all the love and care you give to the residents. We appreciate the extra time you took to organize space so the residents were all able to watch the parade. You are all awesome! Thank you Cindy Hrapchak for always going above and beyond. WEDNESDAY, APRIL 22nd at 3pm - Come join us as we spread a little joy to some beautiful people of Warman. As you know the grandmas and grandpas of Diamond House are very special to us. It has not been easy being separated from the people who mean so much to preschool. The love and joy these seniors bring to preschool is incredible and there are no words to explain it. This is our way to give back a little.... We are planning a vehicle parade for the residents of Diamond House... Seniors Care Home and Mennonite Special Care Home in Warman. We will meet in the Buy Low parking lot at 2:45pm to get organized. Thank you Buy-Low Foods for allowing us to use your space! We will leave the parking lot at 3pm sharp and make our way to Diamond House. I ask that all families remain in their vehicles for the entire parade. The health and safety of my preschool students and everyone participating is very important - social distancing PLEASE. We will drive through the parking lot of Diamond House and wave to all the residents who will be waiting our arrival. From here we will make our way to Mennonite Care Home which is located on Centennial Blvd. Please feel free to decorate your vehicle, make signs or simply just make some noise. Good afternoon Little Learners families. This week we experienced preschool in a whole new way. Through videos and messaging, students were able to continue learning while being safe at home. It is amazing to see families comes together to make this new process provide meaningful learning opportunities in a less than ideal situation. We absolutely love all the photos and videos you have sent to us, they mean more to us at this time than you realize. It’s truly great to see si...bling and parent involvement in the videos and lessons. I especially enjoy seeing all your smiles and quality time everyone is having as a family. As a parent I will share that above all else try to create the memory with your child that during this time when our world changed, it was not a horrible time for the little ones because everyone spent more time together as a family. Let’s have them remember that. As we continue with preschool at home a huge part of preschool is missing....our grandmas and grandpas Diamond House. We are thinking about you and praying we will be back together soon. The students have sent some messages and I have attached some photos of what we have been learning while we have been apart. We miss you lots and get wait to get back to our ‘green’ school. We hope everyone is staying healthy and taking this time as an opportunity to catch up on some needed rest. There is no stress in completing or not completing the work that we are providing. The most important thing at this time is to be present to your child and to ensure everyone is safe and healthy. It comes with great sadneess that I inform you that all preschool classes have been suspended. I have been closely following the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education and as they have announced today that all schools will be closed to prevent the spread of COVID-19. It is very important at this time that we do not expose our children to all the stress and panic our world is facing. Rather let’s do our best to remain calm, keep our children safe and do our best to get ahead of this so we can return to our normal routines. I will be in regular contact with all my current preschool families through seesaw and provide some activities that can be done. Take care and stay healthy!

It’s been awhile since I have posted but we have been quite busy at preschool. We recently just got back from travelling the world. We toured Africa, Mexico, Japan, Egypt, and Hawaii. We were busy learning about children from around the world. Since we’ve been back the students have taken an interest in habitats and animals from around the world. Recently we have been exploring Where do animals come from? We had a visit from a few reptile friends and a couple furry friends - Oviparous vs. Viviparous. Students are getting prepared for our live hatch that will take place in a few weeks.

REGIONAL KIDS FIRST INVITES YOU.... Regional KidsFirst is a faction of the Saskatchewan Health Authority, with a focus on healthy early childhood development. They are also part of the Ministry of Education’s Early Years Branch. KidsFirst have received funding from the Ministry of Education to develop and deliver a program which fosters literacy through adult/child interaction and a play based approach. The goal of this initiative is to help young children ages 0-5 develop skills they need before they are ready to read. The program consists of a number of activity kits for children ages 0-5 and their families explore together, all while developing pre-reading skills.

This was sent to me earlier this week and thought I should share. Grandpa David was known to greet the kids every morning. Rain or shine David was usually outside and he would stay out until the last student arrived. What amazed us the most is he knew exactly who had arrived and if there was anyone missing that day. His joke was, Wal-Mart has a greeter and so does Diamond House.

Heaven gained another Angel Grandpa David, you will always be a precious gift to our preschool. With nearly perfect attendance, you were committed to making the students feel valued and welcome in your home. We enjoyed every minute that we spent with you. Every morning the children would excitedly arrive for a special Grandpa David high five. You took time to build relationships with the children and listened to every story. The love you had for the children did not go unnoticed. You had a heart of gold and we will forever be grateful for the memories. Thank you for being an amazing preschool Grandpa. We love you Grandpa David!

Little Learners is excited to announce we are coming to Saskatoon. We are proud to start a partnership with Elmwood Residences Inc.. Due to extreme cold weather the Little Learners open house has been cancelled for this Thursday. Registrations will be accepted by email on Thursday, January 16th starting at 6:30pm. Availability is limited and students will be accepted in the order emails are received. Please include your child’s name, age and first and second class preference. FALL FUN!!! Thank you Warman Zak’s Home Hardware for allowing us to come in and enjoy the hay maze and bouncy castles. The students thoroughly enjoyed themselves and I appreciate all that you do for the community. Every time I have been in Zak’s whether it be with my family, residents of Diamond House or with preschool, as we were this week, the staff of Zak’s are always going above and beyond to make us feel welcomed.
