It was such a pleasure to work with Joel Bernbaum, the Master of Ceremonies pictured here, and the B'nai Brith team. The B'nai Brith Lodge in Saskatoon hosts a fundraising dinner every year and the funds raised go towards community organizations in greater Saskatoon. With gathering sizes limited this year, we were happy to help B'nai Brith deliver their formal program online through live and pre-recorded videos.

Video testimonials are an excellent way of sharing a positive customer experience. Video shows that customer as a real, live person that your viewers can see and hear. Not just text on a page. And a video testimonial allows your viewers to see a bit behind the scenes. They might get to see your product in action or hear a story about how your service was helpful to someone. While each graduate had something in common (the startSMART program), it was amazing to hear the unique stories behind each individual's journey to entrepreneurship.

Being comfortable on camera - filler words edition. Filler words - we all use them. The filler may vary (like, um, ahh, so, you know), but the function is the same. To connect thoughts or ideas or to fill space between the beginning and end of a thought. And when you're nervous you likely use your filler word(s) more often. When it comes to interviews on camera, one of the things that we try to remind folks about is to take time to pause. Take a breath. Know that a silent mom...ent is totally fine. Pauses are actually great for us when it comes to editing. Instead of using your filler word try focusing on taking a breath (bonus: this will also help you to relax). Or, try thinking the word 'pause' in place of saying your filler word. Of course, new habits come with practice. If you can, try to give yourself a bit of time for that before hitting record!

Powerful visuals paired with an inspiring message can make that happen. Take a look at this video that we produced for the Praxis School of Entrepreneurship. The voiceover was created from a speech made by founder Monica Kreuger at the 2019 Praxis startSMART graduation. And while these words were said in 2019 the message is still just as compelling and inspiring today.
