We our big open field and we definitely try to make the most of it during the summer. We are so grateful to be at a location that allows us to have to this huge field, a playground and our garden. Outdoor time is so important for kids and their development and we believe it is an area that needs to be more prioritized by childcare centres. We spend 2- 2.5 hours outside everyday during the summer so that we can make the most of our short Calgary summers

Ms. Helen (our awesome toddler teacher) loves planning activities catered specifically for our kids and their interests. This little one has been obsessed with cars and trucks so Ms. Helen planned a no-mess truck tracks play activity. Anyone want to guess how long this kept him busy for ?

Our first harvest

How have we changed our programming in response to COVID? Our day-to-day interactions with the kids haven't changed but we have altered the materials we provide them to encourage physical distancing as much as possible (in a daycare setting). Each preschooler is given their own set of markers, play kit, playdoh, and worksheet folder to encourage some independent playing. This bin also has the added bonus of helping with responsibility with taking care of their own bins.
