This is pretty amazing that human milk is considered a medical intervention when needed. It's about time.

Love this. And how true are the words, "You don’t understand yet that the natural act of nursing makes people uncomfortable. Why would you? It’s not something you were born to understand." It's a clear sign that the people you are surrounded by, along with the culture we were raised in make the idea of nursing a toddler feel shameful and wrong.

"But it’s not just breastfeeding that promotes bedsharing. Infants usually have something to say about it too! And for some reason they remain unimpressed with declarations as to how dangerous sleeping next to mother can be. Instead, irrepressible (ancient) neurologically-based infant responses to maternal smells, movements and touch altogether reduce infant crying while positively regulating infant breathing, body temperature, absorption of calories, stress hormone levels, immune status, and oxygenation. In short, and as mentioned above, cosleeping (whether on the same surface or not) facilitates positive clinical changes including more infant sleep and seems to make, well, babies happy. In other words, unless practiced dangerously, sleeping next to mother is good for infants. The reason why it occurs is because it is supposed to."

http://youtu.be/D0RPJ8F2xgU I gotta say this is amazing! I don't know that I would spend $89.99 on it, and he bib thing is a little weird, but I think it would definitely help in changing the culture around breastfeeding by introducing it as the norm at a young age. (Most dolls come with a bottle...what's the difference?) As for the part about "forcing little girls to grow up too fast" and calling the company out for "sexualizing" little girls..... Take a look at every Barbie doll, most clothing and makeup parents are buying for their daughters. Let's be real. "The only way this doll could harm your child is if you beat them over the head with it!"
