I’ve fallen behind on sharing photos! Here are some pics of tonight’s art class. Our little artists learned about blending colours, using water to thin out the paint, layering paint and different brush strokes. Next week they’ll be adding oil pastel to their paintings. I can’t wait to see how they turn out!
Let us never get too busy that we forget to play. - Me
It’s water week here in the Little Yoga Garden!! We’ve got some fun water-themed yoga poses to practice and I can’t wait to read this super sweet story to my little yogi friends. #wateryoga #learningabouttheelements #childrensyoga
Sophisticated cat anyone? Our Tweens had fun with this cat pulling its tail pose, and gave this fun variation it’s very own name - voila Sophisticated Cat. Le meow. #tweenyoga... #yogafortweens #catpullingitstail #sophisticatedcat See more
We want to spread some love to our cherished daycare workers who work so hard to keep our kiddos safe. Nominate your daycare worker by emailing [email protected] and sharing what makes them just so amazing. We will accept nominations from March 21st to April 9th!
#thankfultuesday Let's take a moment to count some blessings in our lives right now. Before you scroll on by, think of 3 things that you are thankful for right now. It can be big, small, anything at all! A hot cup of coffee, a moment of peace from online learning, the health of your family, the sun shining in your window, a cheerful bird outside, your loving pet by your side. Start your day just taking notice of the good things you have in your life and see how it changes you...r outlook for the rest of the day. Ask your kids to join in too and have them share what they're grateful for. #seethegood #imthankfulfor
You asked, we listened! Little Yoga Garden is happy to now be offering online yoga classes for kids!! This is super exciting because not only can we see the sweet little familiar faces we miss so much, we can actually offer classes to kiddos all around the world!! Exciting!! You can register on our website. www.littleyogagarden.com and click on Our Classes. We have classes for younger kiddos and Tweens. If there’s enough interest for a teen class, I will add that too. So feel free to shoot me a message if you have a teen or are a teen who would like to do some yoga. #onlineyogaclasses
Happy 2021 to you, our beautiful community! May this year bring you love, peace, growth, blessings and fulfillment. Thank you for your continued support, we are eternally grateful for you!
#mondaymantra Say it with me, I am strong! Now yell it, I AM STRONG!!... Affirmations (also known as mantras or intentions) are used in yoga and meditation to help focus your attention in a positive way. But that doesn’t mean you can’t use it outside of yoga! Think of it as planting a seed, and when you repeat your mantra, you’re nurturing that seed, or that positive affirmation. The more you nurture it, the more it grows and the more it sticks in your subconscious as you go about your daily life. Our kiddos love yelling affirmations in class. Something about yelling it at the top of your lungs really seals it in. What would you choose as your mantra for this week? Don’t be shy. #mondaymantra #confidencebuilding

Awesome initiative by these two ladies!!
#FridayFeature Did you know we offer more than just yoga? ART CLASSES - Drawing will be a focus, with different materials including (but not limited to) pencil, charcoal, pastels, chalk and even their little fingers! We will be exploring the ability to capture appropriate shapes and sizes of real life objects, drawing animals and people. This class will inspire their creativity and boost their confidence!... PHOTOGRAPHY CLASSES- A course designed with youth in mind, youth will learn photography basics including equipment, lighting, composition and editing.
Our festive reindeer yogis used breathing balls in class today to help with their belly breaths. I love this tool! Having something to hold onto can help young ones focus longer. The expanding and contracting motion helps with breath control and awareness. And they’re super fun to play catch with too! #breathawareness #kidsyogaclass
Make Yoga fun and teach mindfulness and a healthy lifestyle at the same time. What animals can we be ... - Giraffe - Butterfly... - Dog - Cat - Elephant #YourLittleYogaGarden

#TeenTalk UPWARD BOW POSE (Urdhva Dhanurasana) - Increases confidence and teaches surrender during turbulent times. How to get in to the pose:... Lie on your back with your knees bent. Bring your hands on the floor next to your ears, elbows facing up, fingers pointing toward your toes, and hands spread wide. On an exhalation, lift your tailbone toward the ceiling and bring your buttocks off the floor. Take 3 deep breaths. From here, press into your hands, firm your shoulder blades onto your back, and come onto the crown of your head. Your arms should still be parallel to each other. Take 3 deep breaths. Next, press your hands and feet firmly into the floor, and on an exhalation lift your head off the floor and straighten your arms, coming into the full backbend. Lengthen the tailbone toward the back of the knees and turn the upper thighs slightly in. Once again firm your shoulder blades onto your back. Stay for 310 breaths and slowly lower down. See more

#TuesdayTreat What is your favourite holiday treat?
Updates! Our Healthy Bodies, Strong Minds kiddos have their final classes this week! Be sure to bring water because I have a feeling Miss Marsha is going to make it a really good workout! Also, you have likely heard that we are moving into a mandatory lockdown starting on Boxing Day and lasting for four weeks. Due to this, we will be postponing our winter session until the restrictions are lifted. Please watch your emails for updates.... From all the Little Yoga Garden staff, we look forward to seeing you when we can. In the meantime please stay safe. xo
Thanks for the shoutout! So many amazing local businesses to support this holiday season.
Take this time to reflect on the tough year we all had and find what you are thankful for .... #TheLittleYogaGarden
We interrupt your Friday to bring you this adorable baby doing happy baby pose.
Wishing you a Very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays

#TeenTuesday Did you know? Yoga for teens can help reduce anxiety, depression, and mood imbalances. Here are five more reasons: 1. Physical - Yoga builds strength, increases flexibility, lengthens the muscles, increases coordination and balance, builds core stability. 2. Educational - Yoga can help teens mentally refocus on the task at hand.... 3. Emotional - Yoga encourages self-love and self-acceptance. 4. Mental - Teenagers who practice yoga show more positive moods, less anxiety and depression. 5. Social - Yoga breeds connection. Yoga will help teenagers become more compassionate for one another. #TheLittleGardenWay #KidsAreOurFuture See more
It’s Toe-ga time!!! What is toe-ga? It’s yoga for your feet!! This super fun activity helps kiddos strengthen the muscles in their feet, helping to prevent injury and also encourages them to focus and practice mindfulness. Want to challenge yourself even more? Try picking up the pom poms with your non-dominant foot.
#MondayMantra Repeat your affirmations at least three times dailyfirst thing in the morning, midday, and just before you go to sleep. Regular repetition will gently return your focus to manifesting the life of your dreams. #ChildrenAreOurFuture #YourYogaGarden
Check out those balance skills!! Our Tween Yogis brought their balance A Game tonight! They were striking tree poses while balancing cups of water in their heads. There were a few spills but nothing a little paper towel skating can’t fix. ;) See our story for that! Water week was a blast my friends! I look forward to seeing you all next week!
We had a super fun time in Big Kids Yoga challenging our balance with water. I love when kids ask, but what if it falls? Then you get wet. Lol! (There’s only a tiny bit of water in the cups). And we get to skate with paper towel under our feet to mop it up. So much fun!
We made a BIG splash in Toddler Yoga this morning!! We were froggies hopping to our lily pads, we made a thunderstorm and we got to be silly little goldfishies too. We listened to the super cute story Only One You by Linda Kranz and if that wasn’t enough fun, we topped it off with some super fun (and non-messy) water painting!! Thanks for the fun practice today my wee friends! I will see next week!
