Liturgy Canada

For just over two years, Liturgy Canada has been offering conferences in and around Toronto, Hamilton, and Kitchener-Waterloo on the principal movements of Holy Communion - Gathering, Word, Meal, and Sending. The next is on February 2, 2019 conference, Real Presence: God Sends Us in Mission. It promises to be an outstanding event with Liturgy Canada's past chair John Hill giving the keynote presentation, Redeeming the Time: Eucharist and the Recovery of Mission. Lutheran past...or Nancy Kelly will present a workshop entitled Take Off Your Shoes, helping those present map the places worshippers are sent. James Brown will offer a workshop entitled The Last Shall Be First, illustrating how to focus the homily, hymns, anthems, and prayers through the lens of the last words of worship. Peter Wall, Dean of Christ's Church Cathedral, Hamilton will preside at the afternoon Eucharist; Nancy Kelly will be the preacher. It will be a great event for people involved in or supporting worship in their home congregations - worship committee members, musicians, lay readers, assisting ministers, deacons, and clergy; and there is a discounted registration for students and seminarians. We gather at 9 a.m. for coffee and refreshments; the program begins at 9:30 and ends at 4:00 p.m. Lunch is included in the cost of registration. See more
