What a great night on location at Silver Islet General Store to film the third instalment of our Social Sessions with robin ranger last night. Special thanks to the kind folks at the Store for hosting us, and to Scott MacKay and Clay Breiland for capturing the magic. The building is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year and we’re excited to see what’s ‘in store’ for the summer! Stay tuned because this special performance is one you won’t want to miss.

We've had a change in our Social Sessions lineup and we're excited to welcome robin ranger into the fold. The Robin Ranger Quartet will be hitting us with some of that smooth contemporary jazz sound that Live from the Rock audiences have come to know and love!

She is a songwriter who explores grief, addiction, love and family and social dynamics. Her lyrics and delivery make it abundantly clear that she speaks from experience and authority and she is excited to share her experience in a fun and engaging workshop form...at. Together as a group, participants will be working with Sunday to write an original song by learning about her process, as well as how to communicate emotion through theme, tone and lyrics. With eight albums of mostly original music under her belt, as well as national and international awards that include: winner of the Voters Choice Award for Best Blues Song at the Independent Music Awards; blues411 Jimi Awards Best International Blues Release of the Year and Best Roots and Blues Album of the Year; and winner of the Vocal Vibes Artist of the Year Award, among other wins and nominations, this is one workshop you won't want to miss!

Alright folks, it's time for some good news. In light of having to cancel the 2020 festival, we are thrilled to be coming at you with the Live from the Rock Folk Festival Social Sessions! Live from the Rock is proud to present a series of small, socially-distanced concerts held at intimate venues across the north shore and region. We're teaming up with local filmmakers and videographers to record each session and share it with you over social media. Even though we may be apart, these artists will be sharing their songs, stories and music with all of you! With performances by The Honest Heart Collective, ElizaBeth Hill, Martin Blanchet Jazz Quintet, James Boraski Trio, Quayson Williams and The Chain, we can't wait to bring you the music you've all been missing.

If these walls could talk, oh the stories they would tell! This weekend it was a collision of the past and present. We got up to something fun at the Red Rock Inn with The Honest Heart Collective and Keegan Richard - Media Artist. Stay tuned to find out more coming soon!

It's safe to say that Mother Nature chose trick over treat last night! With highway conditions between Pass Lake and Nipigon snow covered with poor visibility and wind gusts in areas up to 80 km/hour, this afternoon's AGM will be postponed. Join us instead November 29th at 1:30 p.m. at the Red Rock Legion for what will hopefully be a much less snowy meeting!

Next Wednesday, December 16th, join us for Social Sessions: The Honest Heart Collective Live at the Red Rock Inn. Tune in at 7 p.m. for a special 1-hour acoustic performance from Ryan MacDonald of The Honest Heart Collective.

Live from the Rock will be holding its Annual General Meeting on Sunday, November 1st at 1:30 p.m. at the Red Rock Legion. All Society members are invited to attend to hear reports from Directors, receive a financial update, participate in elections and much more! COVID-19 safety protocols will be in place with masks and social distancing mandatory for all in attendance. Zoom attendance is also available so if you're not feeling well, please stay home and join us from there.
