Negotiating is a SKILL. And not everyone has it. You wouldn't think realtors negotiate this way but I've come across a few during my time and it BLOWS. MY. MIND! This is probably the BIGGEST dis-service your realtor can do for you. ... It could be from laziness, fear, or lack of experience - either way you should ALWAYS ask your realtor if they negotiate this way. Don't be afraid to ask your realtor if they have a plan for your negotiations, how they strategize around it based on their due diligence, and what you can expect. Ask them if they've taken courses, put together lots of deals, or learned from a coach or mentor. As a realtor, we are responsible to list your home properly, but also to the highest price possible without taking money off the table. Don't be afraid to ask them the hard questions.
