There is a long history of Nova Scotians showing strength and perseverance in the face of adversity ... and the past several months, have certainly been a challenging time, with profound losses, and many challenges. This weekend is the first of sailing weekend of the season for the pride of Nova Scotia, the Bluenose II, and corresponding with that, a three-night virtual vigil is planned throughout Nova Scotia, in which structures will be lit in blue light to recognize the s...trength of Nova Scotians and honour those lost this year. Town Hall Arts and Cultural Centre will respectfully take part in #OperationBluenose - we'll be illuminated in blue from Friday, July 24 through Sunday, July 26. Join us in this tribute to Nova Scotia's legacy of overcoming adversity, perserverance and strength. Anyone can take part - light your home or business with blue lights, and share on social media in a post tagged with #OperationBluenose. Follow Operation Bluenose for more information, and click on this link to read the article in the The Chronicle Herald about the virtual vigil: https://www.thechronicleherald.ca//virtual-vigil-operati/ #OperationBluenose #NovaScotiaStrong #StongerTogether #CommunityPride

**THIS SATURDAY!** THE SHAKESPEARE SHOW November 2 at 7:30/Doors at 7... astortheatre.ns.ca 902.354.5250 This play is so damn clever, even if you don’t know any Shakespeare you’ll still understand it. If you have a love for language, physical comedy and intelligent wit, then The Shakespeare Showis for you. -CBC Winnipeg Who wrote the plays of William Shakespeare? Shakespeare himself? The Earl of Oxford? A horse? Monster Theatre’s Ryan Gladstone (No Tweed Too Tight, Hockey Night at the Puck & Pickle Pub) and Tara Travis (Til Death: The Six Wives of Henry VIII) are back in Liverpool to get to the bottom of the debate. Brings the bawdy world of Shakespeare to life! The Shakespeare Show stands out in the festival for having something to say, and saying it with purpose and humour. -Winnipeg Free Press The Shakespeare Show won Pick of the Fringe in Vancouver and has gone on to play numerous regional theatres across North America. A beautiful score is supplied by violin virtuoso Drew Jurecka (Jeff Healey Band, Sarah Slean, Vinyl Café), and Fight Choreography is supplied by Kevin Kruchkywich (Theatre Calgary, Arts Club, Vancouver Playhouse, Citadel). #AstorTheatreLiverpool #liverpoolns #NovaScotia #ExploreNovaScotia #TravelNovaScotia #TravelGram #NSTheatre #EastCoast #TravelGram #mainstageseries #instatravel #theatre #theatres #halifaxtheatre #southshore #QueensCounty #Halifax #artsnovascotia #regionofqueens See more
