Ready for the weekend, like I haven't done a #fridayintroductions post in a long time! Do people still do these? I want to learn a few things about you too- post in the comments and say hello A few random facts about me:... 1. I have at least one wiggles song stuck in my head every day. 2. I sleep with socks on in the spring/fall/winter and kick them off in the night. There is always a huge pile of socks at the end of the bed in the sheets. It's weird and I don't know how my husband hasn't said anything yet. 3. I'm having the best summer of my life. I don't have the same flexibility in my schedule like I did before Joni and I can't do everything I would like to (hello, road trips and sitting in the pool all day drinking cider). But we've been outside every day... walking, going to kids programs, playing at the park, in the pool, in the sandbox. I've been watching the world through Joni's eyes and it's magical @aleishaboydphotography

Another b+w image, but I love the way this one feels. Is it just me or can you feel more in b+w? More movement, more memories. Or am I just sleep deprived?

Keeping things consistent this season and posting slower than I ever have. Please know that it's not that I don't love my clients and want the world to see all of the magic we created this season, I'm just stepping back from social media so I can focus on balancing work/family life. And social media takes my focus away from what's most important. With that being said, I'm almost certain I spent the entire getting ready portion of this wedding shooting in the bathroom. And do you blame me? A sweet image of an even sweeter bride

I was asked to document an elopement in my home town earlier this season. Josephine and Mark got ready together before heading to a lavender farm to say their vows. It was the first time (and hopefully not the last) that one of my couples got ready together and the first time I shot an elopement. It was a welcomed change of pace and a joy to witness such an intimate ceremony (I even signed the registry!). I know it's more common now for couples to get ready together or elope, but I love that J+M celebrated their relationship exactly the way they wanted. A sweet and intimate day between the two of them. For future wedding planning couples: Throw the big party. Or Don't. Or go to City Hall. Or bring your dog. Or serve only pizza. Just. Do. What. You. Want. That is all. Xo

On today's agenda: wedding number two of the weekend/Gina + Zhi tie the knot (posting this as I sit in the passenger seat of my car, while my second shooter @michele.dalg drives and I pump and eat a sandwich- oh how wedding season has changed).

While I wait for my film scans to come back, I thought I would share something a bit different from Friday's beautiful wedding at the The Isabel Bader Centre for the Performing Arts. I was chosen to photograph Tania and Rob's wedding because they wanted to "keep it in the family". And what an honour it was! The main focus of this wedding was family and it was evident how much each and every guest means to Tania and Rob. Clearly they mean a lot to their friends and family, as ...they received not one, but two airplane flybys during their wedding reception! While there are so many great images from this wedding I could have shared (tooting my own horn here a bit lol), I chose these for their first preview. It speaks to some of the excitement, joy and love that I was lucky enough to witness on Friday. Wedding days go by so quickly and in the end you're left with images that tell your story and evoke the emotion of the day. Thank you to my wonderful second shooter Michele for capturing T+R's reaction to the flyby!
