We have already been able to supply 2 meals and are part way through day 3!!! ... AS AN ADDED BONUS... We just found out that EPCOR Canada is matching holiday season donations up to $25,000!!!! This means that our 4 day goal would actually be 8 DAYS OF MEALS!!!!! ! & ! This cute little kid is a patient at our chiropractic office. He has Type I Spinal Muscular Atrophy - a genetic disorder. It essentially makes his voluntary muscles (used for walking, breathing, swallowing and head and neck control) stop working. Most children with this disease don't live past the age of 2 without treatment, essentially because they lose the ability to breathe. A new drug called is in the pr...ocess of getting approved in Canada. It's a one time treatment that essentially stops his disease in its tracks. Kaysen has gained special access to the drug due to his condition. There are 2 catches to this: 1) The treatment costs . . It's the most expensive drug ever made. 2) The drug needs to be administered before the age of 2. . THE FOURTH ANNUAL TOASTY TOES SOCK DRIVE! The Alberta College and Association of Chiropractors and The United Way are working together to try and collect 25,000 pairs of socks this year and we need YOUR help! Socks are one of the most needed, but least donated item. With the chilly months quickly approaching they are especially needed......
