I can’t stress this strongly enough; If you are doing renovations make sure your contractor hires a qualified electrician. I see way too many dangerous installations by contractors who think they can save a little money. Please be safe. Thank you.

Hi folks Well 2018 was a heck of a ride. I was super busy for most of the year thanks to all of you. I am treating myself to a long awaited vacation for about 10 days. And when I get back, just in time for my birthday and Rendezvous, I look forward to getting back to work. I have a few projects lined up and I’m also open to looking at more. So if you’re considering building, renovating, or upgrading your electrical system then please consider LiveWire Electrical. ... Thank you, Dave.

I seem to be coming across a lot of electric furnace repairs lately. What I've been noticing is that many of them aren't working at full capacity. There are a few reasons as to why that could be. Most people weren't even aware that this was the case and I n many cases they didn't realize it until it were cold. Granted, we haven't really experienced a lot of deep cold this winter so this might not seem to be too important. But what can happen is that your furnace, and the fan, will have to run longer to bring up the temperature or to maintain it. Again, maybe not a big deal...until it hits -40. Then it's a big deal. If you are unsure, or maybe haven't had your electric furnace serviced for awhile, or maybe you suspect that things aren't what they should be, then please have your furnace serviced by a professional.

Here's a couple of examples of what you might find in an older house. If you're going to renovate think about your electrical system. There's no better time to upgrade than when your walls are opened up.

Hi folks. I just wanted to say that I've been a bit overwhelmed with a lot of really bad wiring lately. Really bad. And the thing about electricity is, when it goes bad it goes really bad. Many people say that they're afraid of electricity. I say, good! Unless you understand both electricity and electrical systems, please, leave it alone. A lot of what I'm seeing recently is wiring that was done by an unqualified person, the general contractor, to save a few dollars. In mo...st cases it ends up costing way more. And that is because when I am called in after the boards are up and the paint is on and the switch doesn't work and the toaster pops a breaker when the fridge cuts in, it's going to cost more. If you're hiring a contractor ask who's doing the electrical. Thanks. See more
