LivingInLove.ca ~ Alchemy of Love ~ Holistic Arts & Services 24.04.2021

<3 Hey my friends, This quote by Iyanla Vanzant reminded me of how we at times use "Positive Thinking and Affirmations" to bandage our wounds and darkness, wit...hout actually healing them. Right now I just feel like I want to acknowledge that sometimes it seems there is a lot of pressure to "Be Positive", be "Light", 'just be grateful and think good thoughts' etc, and I think this can be misleading and inappropriate, (not always), but at times, as it seems to disregard a fuller and more whole picture of ourselves and our reality. As in, the Light AND the Dark that makes up who we are right now, and the world we are living in. Know what I mean? Don't get me wrong here, I love being positive and I love all the good intentions and love in all the quotes and memes that we all spread around and do our best to embody. I totally do too. I have an important "but" to add though... And I have to say first that Of Course it is wonderful to feel good and be grateful and focus our energy and intentions on creating more good. And I think Positive Thinking is great, and ideally we are all aspiring to create this good, positive, light and love filled reality for ourselves and our world. So yes, by all means, I choose to continue doing this and encourage it. *BUT* we also need to balance this all out with making sure we give ourselves and each other space to feel all that we truly feel, or it will not be a true vibration we put out anyway. Yes, positive thinking can be a means to re-align ourselves, but if it is used as a bandage to cover deeper wounds, it does not allow us to truly heal or transcend our pain or suffering. There are a lot of (new age and other) mentalities that encourage positive thinking and affirmations but in the process seem to neglect, forget or un-acknowledge the whole of the/our light and dark. I truly believe we need to dive into our darkness every now and again to experience the wholeness of ourselves and hopefully open the doorway for love and light, and true healing and transformation. This way we can experience genuine positivity and love for our whole true selves and all that we are feeling and experiencing, light and dark, conscious and subconscious, including those things in the dark depths benieth the surface of our positive thoughts, that we don't really want to feel or acknowledge. Giving ourselves permission to feel and accept and express what is there is a wonderfully loving way to bring light to our darkness and thus create more light. Transformation starts with authentic self- awareness, honesty, acceptance and compassion. Honouring our darkness is a very loving act. So to anyone who is feeling caught up in being or thinking any certain way, my invitation right now is to stop and go deeper, and give yourself permission to feel what ever is there, whether it is positive and light or otherwise. ***PS : I think I feel called to say and share this right now because it is a great time for exploring what is here in the depths of our beings, with the energy of Hecate elicited by the Sun in Pisces. She is our inner wise woman. Here is a lovely note from "The Moon Woman", articulating all of this sentiment in relation to the current astro realm: ".....(She) can also take us deep within to feel the emotions we've stashed away in our basement. This makes depression more likely during such a transit if you have unresolved pain within your psyche. The shamanic approach to healing is to embrace what is, so if you're feeling dark, scared, hopeless express it as much as possible through drawing, singing, movement as this will help move the energy. De-pression is often the lack of life force we feel when we're suppressing big, heavy, dense emotions we don't want to feel along with really dark thoughts that terrify us & make us feel like we're going mad. In Zen, if we allow ourselves to be everything through that acceptance we begin to heal through allowing our wholeness. If you are experiencing depression consider accessing the support of a psychotherapist. As psychotherapy is a soul centered therapy & you deserve to be supported by one who honours your soul's need to explore the depths giving you a sense of dignity for your own process & through that understanding & empowerment. " The ONLY Way to Heal or Transcend Our Darkness, is to Bring it to the Light and Love it.<3 May we Acknowledge, Honour, and Embrace our Wounds and Shadows. Ours, AND Each Others'. <3 Cultivate a Compassionate Heart, for yourself, and for our world. Love is the Only Way to Wholeness. <3 May we all be empowered to authentically enjoy ourselves and Be Whole :) In Love, <3 Sashie www.LivingInLove.ca
