For example...Don’t hope a new boss is going to change everything in your workplace. Do hope that you will see some results for your efforts. #hope #socialworkerprobs #socialworkerslead #socialworkmemes #socialworker #socialwork #socialworkers #socialworkersofinstagram #helpers #frontlineworkers #burnout #work #workplacehealth #workplaceculture #workplacewellness #empoweringwomen #empowerment #feministwellness #feminist #inspirationalquotes #inspirationals #instagood #inspiration

be honest with yourself to self regulate, and honest with each other so that you can co-regulate. I write about this more on Medium@and at Invisible People. On not contributing to your own suffering, and being more self compassionate. This is directed to frontline workers, but something may resonate for others, too. https://www.youtube.com/watch

I love this framework. The only critique I have is Lipsky talks about our response to trauma exposure. I argue that many of us on the frontlines have primary trauma. PTSD, where the P stands for persistent. #PTSD #trauma #traumarecovery #traumahealing #traumainformed #frontlineworkers #socialworkerprobs #socialjustice #socialworkmemes #socialworkerslead #socialworker #socialworkers #socialworkerlife #feminist #feministcounselling #feministwellness #coaching #counselling #selfcare #womensempowerment #selflove #compassion #inspirationalquotes #inspiration #instagood #burnout #work #workplacehealth #workplacewellness

Research shows we take better care of ourselves when we are experiencing care. So it’s really important that organizations perceive their employees’ mental health as partly their responsibility, and ensure that they both communicate care and offer concrete acts of care. But what if we do have a kinda shitty workplace, with bosses who see us disposable, or who don’t have the skills or time to make us feel cared for? We have to compensate. We have to care for our colleagues and... for ourselves. Empathy and kindness. Coregulation. Self nurturing. We can say to ourselves and each other all the things we wish bosses would say to us. We can comfort ourselves. We can advocate for the concrete things like time in the day to meditate or exercise. #workplacewellness #careforcareworkers #frontlineworkers #care #love #compassion #socialwork #socialworkers #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness #socialworkmemes #socialworkersofinstagram #socialworkerlife #coaching #education #feministwellness #work #workplacestress #toxicworkplace #burnout #workplaceculture #selfcare #instagood #inspiration See more
