LIWSA Season End Announcement To all LIWSA members, Unfortunately, I get to deliver the news on behalf of the LIWSA board, that after many attempts we now have to call it a season as of March 31st, 2021. The PHO has not lifted any outside restrictions and will review again April 19th. No time for us to move forward. We did manage however to get in almost one whole cohort in November while following all the rules put in place by the PHO and BC Soccer. We did well as an asso...ciation showing an ability to work together, support each other and understanding the seriousness of this pandemic. The LIWSA Board and I would like to say thanks to everyone for coming together and demonstrating such group strength. The power of unity is infinite and if kept positive it will clear a defined path for the future. Not just for us but also for all those that will follow us. Our season is at an end but our work is not, as now we begin to prepare hopefully for the fall. Lets make sure we continue our fight against this pandemic follow all the guidelines put forth and continue to support others. Then if all gets accomplished and we can return to a normal year/season in the fall lets make it the best year possible. Please take care, stay safe and keep fit! Any questions, comments, ideas or concerns you can always reach me, I will be available always. See most of you in September. Regards, Cornelis (Casey) Tepper President LIWSA [email protected] https://liwsa.com/webapps/newz/newz_archive_view

Happy new Year to all LIWSA Members and Supporters; We all hope each and everyone of you had a very safe and happy holiday season. Unfortunately our season can not restart as planned as covid-19 restrictions will continue on till at least Feb.5th. We will move our schedules to begin the weekend of February 12th in hopes that our restrictions will be lifted by then. The coaches and Managers meeting will be postponed and rescheduled to Monday Feb.8th 7:00PM. We will need to as ...a collective body determine how we will approach the rest of this season. Meanwhile it is important we all do our part to continue to battle this pandemic and keep us safe and healthy. Please take care and watch for continued updates on our site and social media sites. Also if you have a question or concern text or call 250-213-8859 and you can e-mail me at [email protected] I will be available 24/7. LIWSA President Update October 23, 2020 Hi everyone, Well we are here ready for our first cohort (I think). Got to say it has not been easy learning a new site and trying to put this all together. However we all worked together and got it done! Now is the time to go out there and play and have some serious fun. If any of you have questions now is the time to ask. This has been a very trying period with Covid 19 and the uncertainty surrounding around it. Some intense and emoti...onal moments too. Last night, all teams were presented a notice on how to complete team profiles and the latest info we have on game play rules. So please get the team profiles done before your first game. When going to your games please read, follow, respect and abide by all club return to play programs. Keep your bubbles as small as possible and please discourage fans from attending games think of all the people in the cohorts and what we had to do to make this possible. Not much to give up to keep things safe. I won’t make this any longer than it needs to be. The LIWSA board has worked hard to get here and all we ask is you have some fun! LIWSA 2020/2021 Season Update September 22, 2020 Good day to all LIWSA Members; I am writing to give everyone a heads up as we are planning on opening our season Oct.16th weekend. Just a few house keeping chores to do by all. Also everything needs to be in a very timely fashion in order for this to work. So that means we all need pitch in. Now is the time for teams to make that final decision to play or not as cohorts need to be determined this week. If an opt out is needed... please let us know asap! 1. Cohorts need to be formed this week. Players will be required to enter their cohort on Oct.2nd to meet the return to play guidelines set forth by Viasport and BCSA. We will keep them as comparably competitive as possible but this can also mean games out of division. Keep an open mind. Remember the idea here is to get as many people out there as we can. We all have been through a lot and deserve this opportunity. 2. A SGM (Special General Meeting) will be called for Oct. 13th as a motion asking for special dispensation has been received. There also will be many questions to be asked by all in regards to the coming season. This will be added to the SGM Agenda which will be out in the next few days. 3. Registration will open Monday. Please be patient and read and follow all instructions. Stacie will help you as much as possible. There will be a $50 BCSA affiliation fee charged to each team and an additional $100 new team fee charged to new teams. Individual player registration will be $40 per player as BCSA has taken off $3 per player. Team season fees will be prorated as to how many games are to be played. One charge will be before the break and then depending on the status of the pandemic the LIWSA will determine what the second half of the season will look like including costs. Many tasks are required to get to start date. We will inform and update as we go. Please once again be patient and if a burning question is looking for an answer, please e-mail your liaison and they can direct it to the appropriate person to address the said question. Regards, Cornelis (Casey) Tepper President LIWSA
