It doesn’t get much better than a gorgeous blue sky on a winters day! Ski conditions were glorious on the lake today, and my body and heart were very grateful! And the dog’s smiles say that they definitely were thankful as well!

I was talking with a client this morning who had lost about 60 pounds in the past and has been really struggling to lose weight this time she’s been trying And she was doing what people often do where they reference the past and try to replicate it in order to create their future... She and I had a really good conversation about how her life is a little bit different now, situations in the world are different now and how it puts a lot of pressure on herself to try to do exa...ctly what she’s done before when she isn’t that person anymore So we talked about some thing that I would like to offer to anyone else who’s trying to create change in their body in order to have better health, possibly lose weight or change the number on the scale, or wanting to feel better and their body overall. What I suggested to her was it instead of trying to change everything all at once and trying to project what the future may be instead, think of doing one nice thing for her body every day. (And that wasn’t referring to just eating clean and working out!) You can make a list of nice things you’d do for your own body, and here are a couple suggestions from me: Sleep a restful sleep Eat something nourishing Move your body in a way you enjoy Put on some music and dance Hug someone you love Pet an animal Eat something that makes you happy Meditate Hug a tree Go into nature Have a bath Sing Touch your body in a loving way Say thank you to your body for all it does for you. Laugh It is totally OK to want your body to be more fit, or more strong or more capable, but I promise you that the journey towards greater health is a heckler of a lot more enjoyable if you add some love and joy to the process!
