Christmas is the Story of our Redemption Many people around the world are celebrating Christmas today, yet they do not know who they celebrate. Some see Christmas as a family time, fun time, or time to exchange gifts, etc. For us the redeemed of the Lord, Christmas is our story, the story of our redemption, the story of our new birth and eternal life. John 1 :1-2, says in the beginning was the word; the word was with God, the word was God. All things, including you were made ...through him. Verse 10; 12, He was in the world, and the world was made through him, and the world did not know him. But as many as received him, to them he gave the right to become children of God Why did the world not know him? They only knew Jesus in the Manger, the Son of Joseph and Mary the virgin: Mark 6: 1-4. In Nazareth, people were offended at him because of the grace upon him that was beyond the ordinary. Verse 4 of Mark 6 says Jesus could not do mighty works among them, his own people!!! The Jesus Christ we believe and celebrate today is beyond the baby in the Manger. He is the glorified Jesus, the risen Lord, who is seated on the right side of the father. He has all Authority in his hand. John described a glimpse of his glory and majesty in Revelation 1: 12- 16. Hear what he told John of himself: Rev 1 :11- I am the alpha and Omega, the first and the last; Verse 18: I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore Halleluiah. Brethren, this is the Jesus we believe and celebrate today: Rev 5b: To him who loved us and washed us from our sins in his own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father. He didn’t just save you; He went and came back to dwell in you by the Holy Spirit. John 14: 15-18. Wao!!. What a saviour, what a Redeemer! He lives in you. You carry the whole of divinity in you. No wonder he said the least in the kingdom is greater than John the Baptist. You are greater than the prophets, yes, the prophets, Moses, Elijah, etc. So says the master. Christmas is beyond the birth of a baby. It is the story of our redemption and all that come with it. Glory. Celebrate Christmas with this mindset.
