There are many forms of healing, many different therapies and things people find therapeutic. I grew up in a home and with an extended family that loved to cook and bake. This is not for everyone as food can be a big trigger for many, bringing back painful memories. For myself, however, I find cooking to be very therapeutic. Now a days as I navigate life with fibromyalgia, and a few other issues, the days I feel strong enough to cook bring extra joy. It also brings back wo...nderful memories of my father baking at Christmas, my aunts trading recipes and experimenting, and overall wonderful moments of spices, and aromas that filled many kitchens. I have found for some clients the methodical adding of ingredients, the calmness of stirring, the art of creating something out of perhaps leftovers, to lower their anxiety levels and help bring them into the present moment.
