New work in process.
Happy Easter weekend! We aren’t getting together with family or friends this year but I’ve been thinking about Easters past, when our daughters were little. Our kids each had a pretty little basket that we would fill with chocolates and candy. We would hide their baskets on Saturday night when they were sleeping and they’d wake up early Sunday and excitedly look for their baskets. ... One of my daughters always found hers, and one never found hers and we’d end up having to help her find it with hot and cold clues. Over the years, we gradually made one basket much harder to find than the other. I think the best hiding spot we ever came up with was the year that we hid it in the cupboard where the baking supplies are. Dale emptied the Tupperware sugar bin, placed her basket inside at the bottom, and filled the bin with the sugar. It was the one and only year she didn’t find her basket first. . Here’s wishing you lots of fun with your family if you’re lucky enough to have them with you today! . This piece, My Love, is 40x40, $2100 and available at LeHang Art Gallery in Vancouver. See more

Cultivate the habit of being grateful for every good thing that comes to you, and to give thanks continuously. And because all things have contributed to your advancement, you should include all things in your gratitude. Ralph Waldo Emerson . I am so lucky to have studio space in my home, and the time, the family support, the supplies and passion to keep creating and growing my art practice. It hasn’t always been an easy road, and I have had many struggles and failures along the way, and sometimes it’s a lonely profession. But at the end of the day, I’m so grateful for the ability to express myself through my art, and when I receive letters from people telling me that my paintings bring them joy, it means the world to me. #trulygrateful #workinprogressart #homeismyhaven
