Even in these crazy Covid times, we as creatives must keep creating....Seems like an obvious statement but sometimes we neglect to help ourselves and others by encouraging and supporting them to keep being an artist. With that in mind please support local artists and places that support them. I have been producing some songs for a Christian/pop artist Abigail Ramprashad. 2020 OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT!! The World of Jazz Festival is extremely pleased to announce that we are currently one of the very few Jazz Festivals in the country... (maybe even North America?!) that will be maintaining a LIVE performance portion of our event, as well as a virtual LIVE stream, taking place on Sat, Sept 12th Sun, Sept 13th. . Here is a quick synopsis (Check out worldofjazz.ca for the full weekend schedule): . Sat, Sept 12th: Live Community and Restaurant Performance Day. In this everchanging landscape, we are very excited to still offer albeit a much smaller, scaled-down version of free live jazz music. Acknowledging the large group gathering restrictions, instead of our usual Garden Square venue, we will be featuring 12 bands throughout Downtown Brampton and Mount Pleasant Village between 10am 11pm, playing jazz, funk, swing, reggae and soul music. Come hang out and enjoy the community performances, or make a reservation and eat while you listen to some great tunes! 11 OF THE 12 PERFORMANCES FEATURE LOCAL, BRAMPTON BASED BANDS SO BE SURE TO SUPPORT!! . Sun, Sept 13th: Live In-Studio Stream. Join us on the World of Jazz Facebook page or YouTube page from 1pm-9pm and enjoy 8 back-to-back live performances of jazz standards, funk, NOLA brass band sounds, Latin jazz, Motown and more, featuring Canadian Jazz legend saxophonist Kirk MacDonald, JUNO nominated jazz fusion drummer Sarah Thawer, 10-piece Latin jazz band Salsotika led by percussionist Johan Aguirre, and many more. . Not pre-recorded. Not from their homes. These bands will be live in-studio, produced, mixed, and streamed by some of Canada’s most renowned audio and video technicians. .
