LLGAMH is privileged to partner with St. Lawrence College to offer field placements for students enrolled in the Mental Health and Addictions Worker Program. This hands-on experience is an important component of their training that will help students develop skills to engage and support individuals with addictions and/or mental health concerns. Six students have recently joined our team for 6 weeks. We are proud of our dedicated staff who will be sharing their time and experience to help this group to graduate with the knowledge, skills, and abilities required by frontline staff to deliver responsive and effective care.

Clients and staff started the long weekend off with a little music. About 50 people - socially distanced of course - enjoyed the great music of The Stinky B Band! Thanks to everyone who helped to make the event a success.

Today is International Overdose Awareness Day - a day to help raise awareness of overdose, learn about the signs and symptoms, and to break the stigma around drug-related death. Today, we want to share experiences and help spread the word that overdose is preventable. Over one million Ontarians experience a mental health or addiction issue every year, and we know COVID-19 has presented us with new challenges. Together, we can all play an important role in helping prevent overdose and assist those who may be struggling during these unprecedented times. If you or a loved one is struggling with a mental health or addiction challenge, please call LLGAMH at 613-342-2262. We're here for you!
Yesterday was a great day for a nature walk near Jones Creek. LLGAMH staff and clients enjoyed the fresh air, good company and the occasional tree hug!
