Teaching Tuesday is bringing you some healing ideas to think about. With any societal issue, comes many beliefs, myths, and misconceptions. Experiencing child abuse comes with barriers to navigate and heavy emotions to process. You might have heard or read about some of these before but have you heard about the healing? Have you heard of the children who are able to share their stories, journey through the justice system, and lead healthy lives? The littles who know it was not their fault, who are supported by family, friends, and their community? Beautiful words from our CEO: Where there is hope, there is healing. LSAS holds space for children, youth, and adults who have experienced abuse; we hold space for hope and healing.

Community online workshops: Due to all the COVID interruptions, we recognize that having workshops in person is not a possibility. That is why LSAS has been hard at work formulating education and bringing awareness with safety and social distancing in mind. We would like to announce our Online Workshops starting this September! Once a month, LSAS will be facilitating a free online workshop through Zoom and the education team has chosen a series of workshops to provide to the... community: 1) Sexual Harassment - September 18 2) Child Sexual Abuse - October 16 3) Adult Sexual Assault - November 20 These workshops will be free of charge for the registering participants. Given the COVID circumstances, we recognize the need to be creative with continuing to support schools and deliver our presentations.
