With kitten season quickly approaching we are in desperate need of fosters! We specifically need fosters willing to take on neonatal kittens without a Mom. We will supply you with all necessities. Foster requirements: -Feeding kittens every 2 hours -Must be able to pick up kittens with limited notice... -Must be willing to complete foster training -Stimulate kittens to use the bathroom -Have a separate room away from other animals If you'd like to be a foster please go on our website to fill out a foster application or email our Foster Coordinator at [email protected]!
It’s Whisker Wednesday! This week we chose our longest resident who has been here for 134 days!! Meet Ralphie He’s a big boy with a big heart! He gets along with other friendly animals and does well with children. He loves sitting on your lap while you pet him. He’s fairly laid back for the most part but he does get spurts of energy where he loves to run around and play with toys. He does have a food allergy so he requires a speciality diet. If you are interested in meet...ing Ralphie call us today to book an appointment. If your unable to adopt please share this post to help Ralphie find his forever home! 780-875-2809 #lloydspca #whiskerwednesday
9 animals found their forever homes this week! Thank you for choosing to adopt!
We are extremely excited to be attending this year's virtual National Animal Welfare Conference, hosted by Humane Canada! Our team will learn of new best practices in animal welfare, new skills in the animal sheltering industry, as well as insights into how other organizations do the incredible work they do. We would like to give a big thank you to PetSmart Charities for providing us free registration to this event through their grant opportunity!
Did you know that our social media accounts are not just limited to Facebook? Drop us a follow on Instagram (@lloydspca) or TikTok (@lloydspca) for even more adorable photos and videos of our shelter animals! You never know if your 'like', 'comment', or 'share' will be the reason someone sees an animal they fall in love with and adopt!
We are running low on our garbage bag supply! To keep our kritters clean and cared for, we use 121L or bigger garbage bags to fit our garbage cans. We greatly appreciate any donations we receive from our community. We could not do it without you!
Our Community is truly important to us as are the animals and staff at the Lloydminster SPCA. Our #1 priority is continuing to keeping everyone safe, happy and healthy. We will do our best to accommodate your needs along with ours and we hope to go back to our regular open hours soon! Thank You Again for your Support and Understanding during this time.
Meet Miso! When Miso entered our care, she was in rough shape, with her leg initially infected in the knee joint. Once the infection and swelling was treated and starting to heal - we realized there was more going on. Miso has a torn tendon in her hind leg which has been causing her pain and discomfort for an unknown amount of time. This is an old injury and since Miso has been living like this for a while and carrying around what is essentially "deadweight", we have decided... the most painless and humane choice for her is amputation. She had her leg amputated this afternoon and is doing well. Miso will be ready for adoption once her amputation has fully healed and we are confident in her ability to live a normal 3-legged cat life. Miso is a bit of a drama queen, (as a senior cat approx 9.5 years old, she has earned it), and she has decided she wants all the attention you have to give and has no interest in sharing you or her future home with any other furry animal ( cats or dogs ). A big thank you to Miso's foster mom, who has made Miso's time prior to her surgery much more comfortable for her. Unexpected surgeries like these are an additional cost our organization takes on to be able to provide the best quality of life for the animals in our care. These life-changing (or often life-saving) surgeries are made possible as a result of the kindness and generosity of our donors. If you would like to make a donation to help animals in our care like Miso, please find the link to do so below: https://www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/28371
We have a new arrival to the shelter today! If you recognize this little cutie, please give us a call at (780)875-2809
A kind reminder that we are still gladly accepting donations of empty cans and bottles at our shelter, with the refund going towards helping the fur babies who enter our care in 2021! If you have a bag or two of empties from the holidays, please consider helping our animals by dropping them off at the SPCA between Monday-Saturday, 9am-5pm. A huge thank you to everyone who has already donated!!
Boopsie is looking for her human(s)! If you recognize this sweet lady, please give us a call at (780)875-2809, so we can get her home
We had 11 animals find their furever homes this past week!
An immense thank you to SaskTel and their TelCare Program for their generous donation to our organization! We tremendously appreciate this $1,500.00 contribution, which will be far-reaching for our shelter. Thank you!
