It wasn't the fairytale ending we were hoping for to close out these player's days here at LMB but we'll always be thankful to them for the stories they'll leave behind. The sun has set on their time at LMB but it is just rising on their baseball careers.

Happy Baseball Solstice. Today marks the halfway point of the last out of the World Series and the First Pitch of Spring Training. Hopefully our opening day is a little nicer than this classic at Fenway Park from 1953. At least Mel Parnell, the scheduled starter, remembered the key to baseball: Always have fun at the ballpark. Our eighth day of the BC Little League Championships was another beauty here in Vancouver. In game 1 all the nails were bitten from Main Street to UBC as the #littleleague District 1 showdown between LMB and Dunbar Little League was tighter than two coats of paint. LMB managed to manufacture a run in the top of 6 and then held it down on defence in the bottom of the inning to advance to Sunday's final. In game 2 Hastings Community Little League jumped out to an early lead wi...th a 3 run shot but they couldn't hold off the persistent A's from Coquitlam Little League who battled back and took the game 8-3 earning them their spot in Sunday's game. Day 7 was the final day of the Round Robin at the BC Little League Championships and the park with nervous energy as all 3 games has playoff implications. In the first game Coquitlam Little League battled back against a strong young team from Layritz Little League to take the game 7-6 in extras and secure their play in the Semi Finals. The second game saw Hastings Community Little League play Highlands Baseball and the consequences of this one were cutthroat. Win and your we...re in, lose and you were done. Hastings took it 4-0 behind another impressive defensive outing. The final game of the day saw your hosts LMB taking on long time rivals Dunbar Little League and LMB prevailed with a strong 4-1 win.. After the Round Robin all 4 playoff teams ended up with 4-2 records setting up the following Semi-Final Saturday matchups. 12PM Little Mountain Baseball VS Dunbar Little League 3PM Coquitlam Little League VS Hastings Community Little League Make sure to come by the diamond today and cheer on these Little Leaguers

The sun has set on Day 6 of the 2019 BC Provincial Little League Championships. The tourney's been a barn burner with absolutely great baseball, and more to come tomorrow.
