@thevimff opening night yesterday! I wasn’t able to attend as I was getting all 4 of my wisdoms pulled . But there are still 9 day left of mind blowing films, speakers and workshops and lots of show with tickets left. Well that’s a first . One of my logo designs was made into a cake by the talented @sugarmommapastries! This lovely cake was created for the This Place Called Homeless photo exhibit with the opening night held last Thursday at @theledge.ca. This exhibit features works by individuals in our community who are homeless or have experienced homelessness for the purposes of giving them voice. @squamishartscouncil granted the funds to make this possible, @theledge.ca supported the venue and @squamishhelpinghands and @underoneroofsquamish Community Advisory Committee organized the event. The exhibit runs until October 11th, so go in for a coffee, tea or waffle and see the photos and read their descriptions. @ The Ledge Community Coffee House

If your lucky enough to know this beautiful sole you would know she is in the right line of work. I’ve know Ashlin for over 20 years from our teenage freestyle ski days in the Kootenays to our adulting days here in Squamish. Lucky me ! Finishing her masters, Ashlin has taken the plunge into owning her own practice as a registered clinical counsellor, promoting optimal mental health in the Sea to Sky. Ashlin required a brand - one that reflected her modern minimalism, withou...t gender bias, while avoiding stock or outdoor related photography. The solution was to select a painting of a friend @carlaobeeart and obtaining a digital image to be the base colour palette and brand image for her business cards and website. @squarespace was our platform of choice for simplicity and ease of use. I haven’t used SquareSpace much but do like the drag and drop interface, and found it great for simple, small scale websites. There were still a few customizations that had to be implemented that weren’t built in. The local Vancouver based booking system, Jane App is used for setting up appointments, scheduling, billing, intake forms, etc. If you need a listening ear, I highly recommend Ashlin. She has guided me through a lot with her supportive, non-judge mental, goal-oriented advise and now she has a practice to put her innate and education based skills to use. @ Squamish, British Columbia

Calling all adventure photographers and filmmakers! The @cascadiaadventurefilmfestival is now open for film submissions and photo submissions for their photography competition! Before I was approached to brand and develop the website for the new adventure film festival, I had no clue that I lived in this bioregion, encompassing British Columbia, Washington and Oregon. This festival will be held in Bend, Oregon, September 5-7 and draw in both local and international adventure films. I met Pascale from @gadboisphotography through Squamish Mother’s in Business @squamishmom and the stars aligned. Pascale beautifully and effortlessly captures those moments that are truly important in the most epic settings in the world by creating an environment of trust, ease and respect. We needed to elevate her brand, website and collateral to compliment her work and display these photographs in a way that they deserved to viewed. Pascale has taken the bull by the horns ...in our training sessions and kept up with our task lists while running her business. I was also fortunate enough to have my first training session with a client in adobe illustrator, knowing that she had the underlying basics on photo resolution and the capacity to learn a program that has taken me years to master. Not only that, we accomplished the daunting tasks of transferring to a new email platform.
