I have included a few key points that will help you on your path to obtaining a valid job offer in Canada. For more information on valid job offers you can take a look at my post on valid job offers. 5 tips for finding work in Canada: 1. Prepare a well written resume that includes relative information like English or French ability, work experience, and education credentials. 2. Job Bank - Job bank is a Canadian government created employment site where you can thousands of jobs in every industry. If a Canadian is going to hire a foreigner they must post on job bank making it a prime site for foreigners to contact employers and explore employment options. www.jobbank.gc.ca 3. Indeed and other job sites like monster and workipilis 4. There are many other job sites in Canada; three of the most popular are Monster (use the Canadian site), kijiji and Workopolis. Indeed is also a great site that’s easy to access and communicate with employers. It is well used by many industries and has an interactive platform that will allow you to communicate with Canadian employers, learn about Canadian jobs, work conditions and wages. 5. Recruitment Agencies - hire a recruitment agency to help you find work in your field. Employers also use recruitment agencies and they may have access to jobs that aren’t posted on traditional job sites. 6. Network- use Linked-in, use Facebook, use Instagram and get your name out there. Employers hire people they know so make yourself known. Happy hunting!
What is a valid job offer? This is an important thing to know when it comes to immigrating under express entry or to apply for a work permit. Unfortunately a valid job offer isn’t always just a well written offer on letterhead with a business card attached. Most valid job offers need to be supported by an LMIA (Labour Market Impact Assessment) which is an assessment of the Canadian labour market which is completed by Employment and Social Development Canada.... The LMIA must be applied for through the employer and can take many months to complete. The current wait time for low wage LMIAs is more than 120 days. If the LMIA shows that hiring a foreigner will have a positive or neutral impact on the Canadian labour market then a number will be issued which can be given to the foreign worker who can then apply for a work permit to come to Canada. The whole process can take around 6 months. I have attached a link to the Canadian government page that also explains this process in detail. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp Please leave a comment if you have any questions about valid job offers and we will get back to you as soon as possible. #LMIA #validjoboffer #canadianjobs #workincanada #jobs #canada #immigrationstationcanada #employerservices

"ARRIVED IN CANADA!" A few years ago my partner and I were looking at options for immigration. Canada was high on our list and I was applying for jobs regularly.... Eventually I applied for a job at a stable near Guelph and although the owner, Annie, couldn’t hire me she went to great lengths to find a Canadian employer. She and the employer applied for a visitors visa using a high profile law firm in Toronto. The visa was denied. At that time Annie asked the employer if she could take on the task of applying for the LMIA (Labour Market Impact Assessment) and work permit. She agreed and our lives were in Annie’s hands. We had the job offer if she could do this work. Annie worked tirelessly for months, securing a positive LMIA a valid work permit and a spousal open work permit. Since then Annie has opened Immigration Station Canada. We highly recommend her. She will get the job done with a caring and holistic approach. - Jose (ARG) and Tania (PER) coming from Peru. See more
